This looks really cool Starlight! That's a really great opening post and it sounds like it'll be an awesome story. Sorry but I don't think I can join you just yet. I'm kind of bogged down in a Quest and a Murder Mystery at the Wandering Inn. I might join later though when the others wind up or when I can break off from the Boot Camp and Lucky Fortune.

Anyway Good luck to you!

Hey, I've been lookin' around for a while for an RP I could join without having to read reams of previous pages. This one looks interesting...though I'm a little confused. Is your character evil, or will it turn good, or will it remain evil but still beat the baddie? Another thing, does this occur after The War of the Ring? My character is an elf-maid/assasin, her is my bio: (if you don't think you need me, say so)

Name: Galadhriel, daughter of Vornion, an Elvish Lord in Mirkwood
Age: Unknown, but still considered young (for an elf...)
Weapons: Bow and Arrow, throwing knives, long dagger
Powers: I am the daughter of an Elven Enchantress, and have the power to read minds. I have other highly-sharpened skills, in archery and knife-throwing, and I don't need a horse because I can run faster than one, but they're not considered magical in origin.
Story: Only Daughter of one of the richest (and largest) families in Mirkwood. We have a family history of tragic events, so I and my 11 brothers wander the wilds, doing sundry violent jobs for other people, rather than stay at home where there is such a memory of the past. I also have ties to the royal family in Mirkwood, as I am betrothed to Eridhras, Legolas' younger brother...

do you think you'll need me? I await your judgement.
Galadriel: Sure, your character sounds fine for this story.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> And in answer to your questions about my own character, my character was created in Mordor as a secret weapon against the free poeples of ME, and so was originally evil. Many things have happened to her during her long life's travels, and so changed her aspect on life and awared her that there was more to living that what she had believed, and so she now has mixed feelings as to what her purpose really is. Her instincts are to be evil, though her mind changes with each passing day, and she does know know which to choose. I'll get that part straightened out a bit more once I get more detail into the story. And yes, this time sequence is after the War of the Ring.

Hello everyone!
I haven't done roleplay here in nearly a year, but I am feeling inspired for the moment, and so I shall join. ^_^
I am busy during most days, but will always have time at least once a night to get back into it!
I have no ideas for the roleplay yet, but if I do, I will be sure you let you all know.

Here's a brief overview of the character that I play as:

Name: Mirai Caranedhel/Mirai the Scarlet
Species: Sindarin Elf
Weapons: Swallow, Hook, Poisoned Needles
Birth date: 3329, Second Age; Lothlorien
Height: 5'6"
Appearance: Spunky dark-haired elven lady. She is often personified as child-like, liking to dance and sing. Underneath her cheerful exterior she hides a seriousness in battle, and the wisdom of many ages spent in Middle Earth. She was magic-trained by Galadriel and Cirdan, specializing in spells of fire (thus earning her title "the Scarlet"<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>. When not enjoying life in Lothlorien, Mirai is often seen wandering the cities of Men and exploring Middle-Earth.

For more info on my character you can visit my page:
http://www21.brinkster.com/skuldmirai/mirai.html

though it hasn't been updated for a while. Sorry.

Hopefully I will be helpful on this, please let me know if I meet your criteria, Khatazul!

Will you allow dear Alayna to join? If you will, here's my profile, but I'm sorry if it's too long and too detailed:

Name: Alayna (Silverblade)

Age: 14

Race: Human

Occupation: Professional Assassin who works for whoever can afford her price, which is usually too expensive for all but the richest who wants only the best.

Weapons: A silver chastened sword, which is narrower and has a double-edged blade. A shiv, which is a weapon that consists of the blade of a razor, set in a wooden handle. A dagger, with a hilt of glasslike black stone, contoured to fit her hand, with a finely honed blade of burnished silver.

Clothes: A long, hooded cloak of wool, dyed a deep indigo, the color of the night ski. Her tunic is a simple but well made one of soft gray cloth, her trousers a blue several shades lighter than the cloak and tucked into polished black leather boots.

Appearance: Rather small built, with hooded black eyes that shine with a cold fearlessness and shoulder-length brown hair streaked with gold. She has high cheekbones, an upturned nose, and rosebud lips. Her knuckles are formidably scarred as a result of her life under the bandits and the swordsman.

Brief History: She was born in a quiet village, but bandits attacked it when she was five. Her face was devoid of all expression while she saw the village being razed to the ground around her, and the leader of the bandits had offered to spare her parents’ life in exchange for her. They had refused, and the sweeping blade of a scimitar decapitated her father, while her mother fell with a spear in her chest, blood streaming from the wound. The leader than tied her hands together with a piece of rope, and attached the other end to his horse and rode away into the night, with the small figure stumbling behind him, clad in only her nightgown.

She had lived with the bandits until she was ten, and was usually forced to do their dirty work while they relaxed. However, they had trained her well in the arts of using the knife and shiv, and that was their downfall. When she couldn’t stand being ordered around anymore, she used their skills against them, injuring a few of them and killing the leader, the man who had caused her so much hardship and suffering. That was the first man she ever killed, and the thrill that had filled her whole body was something she would never forget. She then set the whole camp on fire, and she smiled grimly as the place was razed to the ground in the same way her village was razed.

She had wandered around for an extremely short while after that, before being adopted by a swordsman who trained her in the basics of using the sword, after he discovered her potential as a swordswoman. He let her develop her own swordplay, which was formless and looked foolish, but was rather formidable, and only a professional and well-trained swordsman could beat it. He taught her the most important rule of fighting:
Never be too eager. If you are too eager, mistakes will be made. Let your opponent make the first move, and think before you move from your stance. In addition to adopting her as his daughter, he have her the sword and dagger as a parting gift, when she told him she wished to leave. He also gave her a purse filled with coins and bade her to use it well. He was like a father to her, and she would never forget his kindness. She had stayed with him for three years, and those were the best times of her life.

She had wandered around for a while; trying to pick out which class of men she should model herself after, and soon decided on the noblemen class as her role models. Using the money given to her, she dressed herself like a young noble, and she spoke with a slight accent that gave her a cultured sound, which enhanced her character. As time passed, she had changed the name she used on the streets from Alayna to Silverblade, and started working as a small time assassin, before beginning to earn herself a reputation as a good assassin, one of the best, and unbeatable. No one knows Alayna is Silverblade, and the mark she leaves on her victims is a piece of snowy white parchment with the word 'Silverblade' written on it in black ink, and it is always found on their bodies.

Do I pass? Once again, I apologise if my post is too detailed.

Mirai: Thank you so much for wanting to join!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> Your character sounds really interesting, especially with her weapons. I would love to have you join the story.

Tobias_Red-tail: Your character's background is perfect, I sort of had fun reading it. The detail in your bio is wonderful, and your character's weapons are impressive too.

So I thought for the RP I'd change a bit in the first post, mostly to do with the first task assigned to Khartazul - I thought I'd switch a couple around so that it might give everyone a better chance to enter their character. After I finish that, I'll be happy to have anyone join in as soon as they feel they want to.

~Starry*<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Hullo, I've also been looking for a young RP, since there aren't really very many left. My character might not fit however.

Name: Cain Norfan
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Height: 6’ 10”
Weight: 172 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Deep Blue
Appearance: Fair skinned and fair in appearance; a few small scars on his face, noticeable only from up close; Usually covered in a heavy, black and hooded cloak which hangs from his shoulders to the ground, and under which he wears a thin yet warm light brown leather jacket made from deer hides and finally a thin, grey tee-shirt; his pants are black and woven from Elvish materials and are held up by a black leather belt with double rows of silver pyramid spikes; he does not go about bare-foot, but wears black boots; a black quiver hangs at his back usually holding half a dozen to a dozen arrows at a time, the bow he uses hangs from his quiver; concealed under his cloak under his right arm is a heavy, two-handed sword, and under his left are is a container of water; His long, dark hair falls upon and over his shoulders and blends in with his cloak
Build: Thin as any elf and cut, but not muscular as the race Men generally are thought.
Marital Status: Single
Occupation: None, lives off the land he travels in, repays any that he borrows from with work or the produce of his craft
Outfit: See appearance
Means of Travel: Travels on foot, can ride horses or other beasts if necessary
Weapons of Choice: Two-handed sword
Skills Include: The working of metals and the craft of gems, singing when alone, magics of darkness (not to be confused with witchcraft)
Personality: Dark and moody at times, quiet and mysterious, more humble than Fëanor and Caranthir from whom he has descended yet still proud
'Main' Past Bio: Lived out his young years with his fellow people of the line of Caranthir son of Fëanor, and during this time learned much in working with his hands. He became especially good at metal working and working with gems. At time he would go to the Dwarves who lived not far from his people and would glean from their knowledge as much as they would allow. However, when one of the line of Finarfin came to his people Cain was drawn to him because of his golden hair and he admired the people of Finarfin. For this he was set apart from his own people and was ostracized among them. Before he was very old Cain left his home among the people of Caranthir. At first he lived with the dwarves, and there he grew much in stature and strength and skill, but there was ever a grudge held against him there as well, so from that time forward he lived as a vagabond on his own in the wild. At times he would stay with his cousins’ people, those of the sons of Fëanor, but never would he stay long in one place. And, Cain continues to travel as such on his own.

Cain after the fall of Mordor:

He is one of few Fëanorians of true blood left in ME. The Silmarils are lost so his predicessors' oath no longer applies, leaving him as an aimless vagabond, not willing to yet cross into the West. He often travels in the further east, of which few know. There he would live off the land he was in or often would spend a few days at a time with small groups of Dwarves or Men. Most of the time he would remain alone, except for the company of his horse Falmalóm, in the wild and would at times come back to western ME.

It might take some time for me to incorporate my character, but we might be able to use him.

Cain Norfan

Somewhat more lithe and nimble than her elder brother.
Height: 5'9"
History: The last survivors of a dying family line, Atryn and Dargolir are hard-pressed to uphold their kin's past and honor code. They take care of one another, and hold each other's survival above that of any other human being - they are all each other has left.

Name: Dargolir Hawkeye
Race: Rohirrim
Age: Late twenties
Preferred Weapon: A scimitar and a shortsword
Distinguishing Marks: None.
Appearance: Taller and broader of build than Atryn, Dargolir is darker of face than his sister as well. He has brown-red hair and shares the same color of eyes with his sister.
Height: 5'11"
Bio (Because their history has already been covered): Dargolir is willing to do anything to protect his sister and his family's heritage. Fate has thrown him some very twisted curves, making him somewhat of a cynic.
Just letting you know Im still following along. Im trying to find a good spot to enter into the story. Its kinda weird when you start an rp and are alone and then 50 people randomly come up, introduce themselves and then declare to aid/oppose you in your quest. But its looking good and Im waiting for my oppurtunity.

Cain my character is just departing FROM Minas Tirith if you want to grab onto that line....if not that's ko too.

My Bio and please if it dosen't work tell me and I'll modify it.

Seanera is an elf of Rivendell, the land formally known as Imladris and has spent time both there and in Lorien since her Grandfather Celeborn was still living there at the time of her birth. Although she was sent to live with her kinsmen in Gondor(Arwen and Aragorn) after her father's death when she was 3.
Her mother was said to have been a ranger from Rohan but was actually and heir of Prince Imrahil's and heir to Dol Amroth. Being of stunning beauty she traveled all over ME seeking adventers she couldn't find in the stiffling palace her father had been told she had claimed her own life and in this lie he took his. Her mother's name was Katherinen and as she was wondering the vallys outside of Imladris she was ambushed by the remaining orcs and she fled into the havens of Rivendell where Lord Elladan and his brother Elrohir found her and took her back to their home. Elrohir and Elladan both fell in love with her and fearing that they would destroy each other in their jelousy Elrohir departed to Lorien to spend the remaining time with his Grandfather.

Elladan and Katherinen lived happily for several years before she heard of the news that her father had taken his life in vain, wishing to seek the traitor that had told him this lie she departed Rivendell not knowing at the time she was with child. Once in Dol Amroth she confronted the evil man that had been her fathers confidant and ordered his banishment and her cornation as the new ruler of her fathers kingdom. She had her child the night before the coronation but was murdered by the same man that betrayed her father, for unknown reasons the child was unharmed.

A messenger was sent back to Imladris with the baby girl and given to her father with the news of his wives death. Lord Elladan was never the same though he raised his daughter as best he could with love and light, teaching her the ways of healing, so she could be as wonderous a healer as her grandfather Lord Elrond and she was even gifted with foresight though not as well gifted as her Grandmother Lady Galadriel.

When she was only 3 years old in mortal standards Elladan felt the sadness pull on him to deeply and one night he allowed his utter grief to take his soul, his brother and Grandfather sailed that same month.

Her aunt and uncle took her in and raised her to be a grand healer like her father had tried to do, and she became more beautiful then any other set beside her. She married a mortal man from Rohan but when the marriage was only a year old he was captured by remaining orcs and tortured to his death. Soon after she gave birth to their son whose name means Golden leaf in elvish. Named for his Golden hair, a trait of the men of Rohan.

Apperence: Tall and slim with big lovely grey eyes and soft long dark brown hair. Usually wears dresses that show her form but does not care all too much with her clothing. Although she usually wears pale blues and purples.

Yes, that would be good, but the matter of their meeting must be urgent, that it would realistically draw Cain from his journey to Gondor. Also, where is your character going in this story? Not necissarily in destination in ME, but more with developement. That will be helpful to know, if you yourself know. I don't really know yet how my character will develop.

Cain Norfan

I could see that's what you were planning at any rate.

Hey guys, I'm going to be gone for a few days; I don't know if I'll have computer access or not...but probably not. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>

If Seeker wants to have Atryn meet up with me and Alayna, I'll trust those two to take care of my character until I'm back.
I should be back Sept. 1 and I'll be able to post again then.

But if someone could make sure that Mirai meets up with Atryn and things are happening with Alayna, I'd really appreciate it. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Just don't get my character killed or something like that. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Thanks a lot. See you guys in a few days.

~Mirai

Atryn's not going to kill Silverblade or arrest her - mainly because she has no idea who she is. And she's too nice to kill anyone. Dargolir I can't make promises for. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
I'll push Alayna's assassination of the entire underground thingy until everyone is okay with it, for this is a widespread massacre. Don't worry, it won't be too bloody, for although I do love battles, but have never been good at writing it out. If everyone okays it, then I'll go ahead. And laugh if you like at the Xmen names. Those were the only ones that came to mind at that moment. So yeah. I'm waiting to see if anyone else approves of my massacre. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
Besides, I'll only be killing NPCs.
*Waits for approval, or she will just do it.*

*looks at massacre plans* Sounds cool. Is it alright if I write Nor (the stablehand) in as part of your underground network you've got to assasinate?

If not, then just void that part of my last post that says so.
