Hello! I am so excited to be getting this RP off the ground! We have been working extra-hard for a long time, and here it is! Please remember not to post until all the council members (GM's) have posted! It will make the RP go smoother that way. Thank you! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> The links are all in my signature, and if you want, you can e-mail me, reguarding my profile, or something else you need to ask.

There is a link to my profile in the Character Archives in my Signature...
Or you can read it here in simpler form:

Name: Imthulëiel Nílnaeth (Thulë )

Species: Elf

Sex: Female

Height: 6' 0"

Weight: 145 lbs.

Age: 2,400 or so

Horse: Sílmaroch- a white Arab mare, hand-raised from a colt. Bred from a champion steed of Rohan.

Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow- a large bow, given to her by a Ranger-friend of her father's. Also has a small Elven sword, given to her by Thranduil, King of Mirkwood.

Appearence: Long dark brown (almost black) hair, with long bangs that hang down the side of her head, when not braided back. Hair is straight, and falls to about her waist. She has green eyes, sometimes with specks of blue in them, and fair skin. She is stunningly beautiful, with a curvy figure. She has learned to use her beauty to her advantage in battle.

Outfit: As a princess, she likes bright colors; every color of the rainbow has found it's way into Thulë's wardrobe. Her favorite is a long, silken dress; pink, yellow, and green. It has long, flowing sleeves, and is formfitting to her body. Her battle/venturing outfits are just green and brown leggings with a long, tight overshirt. She has a large Elven-cloak, that helps her hide when necessary.

Discription: Strong, for a she-Elf, but conserved with her strength. Has a temper, and can be very stubborn, if provoked. Very sensitive at times, and has a soft-spot; her father's death, and mother's absence. She is very in-tuned to others' feelings and emotions, and her senses are impeccable.

Backround: Imthulëiel was born in the land of Mirkwood, to parents Nóndil and Elerrína. When still very young, her father Nóndil departed their home land, and joined the Last Alliance. She and her mother were left to fend for themselves, in the changing world.

Although her father never returned, and her mother wandered off soon after to see what had become of him, Thulë was raised by Mirkwood's own King Thranduil, and he soon adopted her into the family. She became close to them as it was her own family, and thus was awarded the title "adopted princess of Mirkwood".

Growing up, Imthulëiel met many men; mostly Rangers from the North, who told colorful tales of her father, that Thulë never tired of. She became extremely close to one man, Jacen, but had to leave only 5 years after meeting him. She never forgot him, and later in life, befriended, and fell in love with his son, if only by chance.

Though she loved her life as royalty in Mirkwood, and friendship with Jacen, who visited often, she often felt the need for adventure. She wanted to defend her race, and avenge her father's disappearance. She still blamed Sauron for the Evil in the world, and after she turned 1,500 years of age, she set out from her home and family. Leaving her princess garb behind, she journeyed long, only returning to Mirkwood for brief amounts of time.

My bio <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
Age: Approx 3350 by the time of the War of the Ring
Race: Sindar Elf
Heritage: Father is Minyaseregion, Mother is
Quellehelediel, Sindar elves of Mirkwood
Marital Status: Married to Lord Celebcúlin of
the Grey Havens in the 3rd Age
Children: None
Occupation: Battle strategist, cartographer,
linguist, and mariner
Weapon: Long and short swords, bow, bo,
knives, & tessen
Description: 5' 10", dark brown hair and
eyes, pale skin
Means of Travel: Her swift sail ship, Manadh Sûl, & her horse of Rohan, Firenze
Outfit: Preferrably dark leggings and tunic with a cloak, will put on silver and blue dress when necessary
Enjoys: Reading the history of the races of Middle-earth, learning the geography of Arda, past and present. Speaking with others of the goings on in the land, practicing her weaponcraft, sailing the far reaches of the Sea, and horseback riding.
Personality: Inquisitive, stubborn, and quiet
Biography: Born in Mirkwood, Lasgalen spent most of her peaceful childhood reading every book in King Thranduil's vast library. She interests were in Elvish warfare, and she was consumed by the histories and geographies of the battles of Middle-earth. Knowing that few female elves were ever in command of an army, Lasgalen demanded training in a variety of weapons, especially the long and short swords, which she was never without thereafter. When she felt her training was exhausted in Mirkwood, Lasgalen begged leave of Thranduil and travelled throughout Middle-earth, mapping the land and learning from anyone that would teach her. In Rohan she became skilled in horse riding, to Gondor she went for further studies in the libraries of Minas Tirith, to Dol Amroth, where she became a skilled mariner, and in Imladris she listened to the endless wisdom of Elrond. In Imladris Thranduil's messengers found her in the year 1051, and bid her to return home. There, Lasgalen found the darkness of Dol Guldor had crept stealthily into her wood, and she swiftly developed the impenetrable defenses that kept the Caverns sound amidst the evil. Angered by the King's choice to send his own son into battle instead of her, Lasgalen bid her time in Mirkwood during the War of the Ring, holding the encroaching evil at bay until Sauron was defeated. When peace had returned, Lasgalen departed swiftly from Mirkwood, and went to Dol Amroth, land of her friend, Prince Imrahil. There, Lasgalen asked that a ship be built for her, a hardy one that could withstand the winds of the Great Seas. Imrahil councilled her to abandon the far West, saying that no ship could stand against the might of the Valar. But Lasgalen, in her determination to see and map the ancient places of Arda, paid him no heed, and sailed West, forsaking the Blessed Realm, and instead searching for Meneltarma, the sunken "Pillar of Heaven" of Númenore. After months at Sea, Lasgalen and her crew of Men and Elves had reached the Great Rift. Upon crossing, a storm of tremendous strength could be seen growing in the West, and Lasgalen, bowing to the might of the Valar, ordered the crew to turn back, but the storm was too swift, and fell upon her ship and sunk it. Clinging to a board of wood, Lasgalen floated amidst the waves for days, too bitter to beg for the mercy of the Valar. On the day that she knew was her last, Lasgalen lifted her eyes to see a ship flying towards her over the waves. Pulled from the ocean, she was kept and cared for by the captain of the ship, Lord Celebcúlin of Mithlond. Upon their return to the Grey Havens, Celebcúlin invited her to remain on the shores of the Gulf of Lhûn as the Lady of the Hall of Pearls and Shells. Accepting his invitation, Lasgalen commisioned a great white sail ship for him that would withstand any storm, Gaersereg, "Sea Blood" and an identical one for herself, Manadh Sûl "Blessed Wind".
From the peace of the shores of the Grey Havens, Lasgalen frequently travels back to Mirkwood to assist Thranduil and his council, and to Imladris and Dol Amroth.

Oooh, dat's long. I'll just post my profile, let me know if it'll work, ok<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Name: Seanera

Race: Half Elf, and Half Man

Height: 5'9

Build: Tall and slender though she is strong being brought up taught the manners and ways of defense by her grandfather Lord Elrond and other trainers.

Occupation: Simply the Lady of Imladris, though she wanders as a rouge ranger searching for her lost child and the evil forces that killed her husband years ago.

Markings: a scar running from the lower half of her ear and following the gentle curve of her jaw line to her chin(given to her by a poisoned sword used by a man roaming the forests she had been searching in. Several scars on her arms from various small battles.

Outfit: When she is in the presence of nobility or representing her land of Imladris she wears the fair dresses of court, her long ebony hair done up in twists to frame her fair face. When she is out in the open she will usually either wear ridding dresses in greens and shadowy hues, or rangers garb.

Possessions: A small dagger kept at her side given to her by her grandfather with a small beautiful sapphire gem. Another longer blade and a sword used by her father and his father before him.

Means of Travel: A silvery gray mare given to her when she was a young child. She has named the horse Roultania.

Skills: She was trained largly by her grandfather and Celeborn along with many of thier weapon trainers on the art of swordsmanship, though Seanera chooses to use her knowledge of healing over her knowledge of the sword. She also seems to have a way with many of the wild animals, giving her an advantage.

Personality: She tends to keep her temper under stressfull occasions though if someone is detaining her or keeping her from what she needs or information that is important she will unleash an inner fire that has been known to send full grown soldiers running from her.

M. She has creamy lightly taned skin with red lips and pinkish glow to her face.

Biography: Her father was the Lord Elladan son of Elrond, his wife was a maiden of Dol Amroth brought up like a daughter to the Prince Imrahil. Choosing to marry a mortal and give up his immortality like his sister Arwen he also chose the fate of their only child Seanera. Seanera's mother was murdered on her way back to Imladris bearing the child Seanera with her on a annual visit to Dol Amroth, the child was left in the bushes and found by chance by a young ranger. He noticed the girls elvish trademark ears and her fair and noble looks. He also saw a tattered peice of Imladris' banner wrapped around her, so he took her there to her father. Since then she has been brought up largly in Rivendell and Gondor although she spent a lot of time in Lorien.
She married a mortal man very young and they moved to Rohan to live thier life with their small son. On a father- son hunting trip evil forces captured both the valient warrior and his son and men of Ithilein found the husband's body near thier borders. Hello Lady of the Stars <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
The Alliance itself is in full swing in the Guild and Alliance section. If you are interested in joining, please take the link from my sig, all are welcome <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
As for the RP, it is just starting, so now would be a good time to join if you are interested. The characters are just leaving Eryn Lasgalen, but given that there are only a few posts, (albeit long ones) it shouldn't be hard to catch up.
Forest creatures? Please explain further, if you'd be so kind <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Tinny, Lorien is most definately not between Mirkwood and Rivendell, so unless something entirely unexpected happens, I dont' think we'll be going that way any time soon <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>
Well.. since you are a Hobbit, and we aren't going to be anywhere near the Shire, you're going to need to fit yourself in somehow. And we're not all royal. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> You could be travelling to/towards Mirkwood for some reason....

alright then, I'll just join in coming down south from Lorien, going through Fangorn and meet you all up in Rohan or something like that... we'll see once it gets there <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Tin, I think you'll need to go North to travel to Mirkwood or Rivendell. Do you have a map of Middle Earth?

I can see that people are worried about how to join the RP. Maybe the best thing to do is to post saying where you are and what you are doing while King Thranduil is organising this little excursion. Then the four people already on the mission could come and find you or meet up with you somehow.

It's probably best to be in or quite near Mirkwood if you want to join the group early on.

As for the biographies, they don't have to be prize-winning essays! Just think of what race you are, where you live and how old you want to be, get the basics down and you can fill it out later. As long as we all know who your character is - what abilities they have etc.

As for my charachters name, it would be Derstil.

He's Elven from the house of Finrod Felagund he was in Lorien when they were attacked three times by the enemy, and when Celeborn met Thranduil in Mirkwood, Derstil befriended Thranduil and stayed with him in the northern region.

He's tall as all elves are and he carries a good supply of Lembas, always. He is adorned with a grey elven cloak, woven by Galadriel herself.

When he was in Nargothrond, he gave up the bow and picked up an orcish scimitar (that he doesn't name), because when Turin led them out of secrecy, he felt he could weild it faster. But he still carries a dagger called Kirist in case the foul scimitar breaks or betrays him.

Derstil is known for his quick riding and his surpassing ability to conceal himself, even from other elves. He was also taught great skill in swordsmanship by Orodreth, Finrod's brother.

He is a dancer and a great harpist. He takes after Finrod when asked why he doesn't marry, and will never openly admit that he has a secret affection towards Arwen, now King Elessar's queen.

I'm really exited about this RP and Derstil, so please let me join!!!
alright, just a sec while I get out my map..ahem..cough..alright

well, it really all depends on where you are planning on crossing the mountains. If you plan to take the Gap of Isenguard, I will have to ride south. If you choose a more northern route then I will have to ride far North. Most likely, to find a good pass to go through, you will have to travel a bit southwards. The location of Rivendell in respects to the path that leads to Thranduil's house, is pretty much lined up, but the only marked road is a bit southwards of that. Unless of course you would like to ride up REALLY far north and completely pass the mountains, it would be really cold, and who knows what lies up there, since no one now lives there. You would have traveled to the Northern Waste, but you would be close to Dale and the Lonely Mountain. I have a link for a nice map right here, in case anyone is seriously lost, lol. You might have to join the community to see it, but I dont think you have to... http://www.msnusers.com/LOTRHeaven/yourwebpage.msnw

Anyway, those are your options, as for as I can see them... and I'm not suggesting that you necissarily know what you're going to do, neither did the fellowship and had to eventually pick and choose pretty quickly, chances are we'll have to as well. Well, woo... that was a long post, and btw, I LOVE YOU BEMA!!! thanks for starting it up again!!! yay!!! I'm sure the Mirkwood Council people will let ya join.

Ah, I see what you're getting at, Tin. Obviously the path taken will depend on what the group decides to do and what events take place. There are several options for crossing the Misty Mountains, though. Aside from going through the Northern Waste (which might be a bad idea!), there is the High Pass that was used in the Hobbit, the Redhorn Pass that the FoTR tried to use and the Gap of Rohan. The route taken would determine whether you needed to travel North, South or due West.

Bema, welcome to our OOC, we are happy to have you join us in our travels <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> That's a great bio. There is a link to the RP in the first post of this thread, also in Lasgalen's sig.

Lady of the Stars, we already have several elves and a hobbit in our group so feel free to join, whatever your species.

Hey Bema, fantastic post. I love it when people work their characters in so well.
I'm going to scan a map of Mirkwood and the surrounding areas and I'll post it. And I am going to do this now so it actually gets done <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
We are moving West from E.L. towards Rivendell, it'll be pretty apparent as soon as I finish with the map... roughly a half-hour.
ok you talked me into it. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Mithamarth Armenelos

born in Cuivienen to Ilmarë (sister of Ingwe) a Vanyarin Elf, and Elmo (brtoher of Elwë and Olwe) a Telerin Elf, but no one knows of his decent by the Third and Fourth Ages of Middle-earth, and only know him as being decended of the Sindar. originally named Mithamarth, but renamed himself Armenelos in the 4th age after his dwelling (everyone in this RP will call me Mithamarth; please). he has black hair that he cuts off at his chin (so it's some inches long), with threads of grey in it (he is older, but still looks young of course). since he is older, he has evidence of facial hair, but not a beard like Círdan, just slight stubble, which is also dark colored. he wears all grey with a dark cloak that makes him almost invisible to the eyes of elves and men (and others) that he can shroud himself within if needed, and wears the emblem of Elwë upon his breast. he carries a black sword which he named Zulfikar, which was originally the sword of Maeglin, and which Eol made (the partner of what became Turin's sword). once someone nailed Zulfikar into it's sheath, so that Mithamarth with all his might pulled the sword, splitting it in two near the point, so that is now dual-bladed. he also carries a harp named Erelaelin, and was schooled by Melian the Maia in dreams and singing. he is the cousin of Luthien.

spent first age in Beleriand, in Doriath, in the Falas, and in Ossiriand. friend of Gil-galad and then of Celebrimbor during the second age (he was actually Curufin's slayer in the attack on Dior at the end of the first age). fought in the battle against Sauron at the end of the second age, dwelt in the north during the third age, was part of the White Council and aided Mirkwood during the War of the Ring.

anyone from Mirkwood during the War of the Ring will recognize me, but won't know much about me, as i keep to myself, kind of like a Lone Ranger, but know that i am from some great decent, and kind of hold me in reverence (a little).

Hullo im guessing it's ok for anyoen to join tell me if its not and i'll dissappear <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> I can write quite well but sometimes i have typos things like that because i'm welsh and generally speak welsh, but i hope my writing is good enough to join <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>

Name Llinos (welsh meaning Linnet - bird)
Race Laiquendi Elf
Gender Female
Age Unknown but has only just left the care of her Guardian
Height 5ft7
Build Sleek but has a hidden strength
Eyes Green
Hair Strawberry Blonde
Marital Status single
Occupation Wanderer of Lothlorien, she has leave of many places as she simply likes to wander. She has been dubbed the Maiden of the dawn when she was discovered in Moria and rose from the darkness in a ray of light.
Outfit She dresses in traditional Laiquendi wear, Green Riding trousers with knee high dark green elvish boots and a light green tunia embroidered in the lure of Laiquendi with leaves and trees. She always wears the North Star necklace and the Ring of Mithril Rheader which is the ring of the dawn and has a stone inside that glows a great light at dawn.
Means of Travel She has a steel grey stallion called Magien (welsh meaning Firefly) but she doesn't always ride him only when she needs to. Llinos spent alot of time in Rivendell, it was at that time that she wandered of in the night into Imladris, she followed some Fireflie's and found Magien a young colt, grazing under the moonlight, she adopted him and named him Magien because of the Fire Fly's. Magien acts partly as her gaurdian for she was feared for as she left the safety of her home still young.

Skills Llinos has simple healing skills bestowed on her by Elrond when he tutoured her . She fights with a Long elvish bow made from Sycamore and a has a light elvish blade too that she found. She has a ring that is the ring od Dawn it is called Rhaeader and is made from old Mithril with a stone inside that only shines at dawn.

Personality She is generally shy until she knows someone, she is extrovertial but sometime appears distant as if she is in another world. She was often called dreamer by her companions. She hides her feelings alot of the time if she is sad about something and always wheres a smile as she was told once no matter what pain you were feeling on the inside you can always find a reason to smile.

Bio Llinos' past is sketchy, she is the daughter of Denethor the last Laiquendi lord who died fighting the evil that tried to overcome Ossiriand where they dwelled. When her Father died and the Laiquendi's went into deep morning they did not forget his only child, they feared for her greatly their most cherished maiden, which pon seeing her red golden hair grow they named Lady of the Dawn and so the Myth was said that the Lady of the Dawn would be born of old and then fall to darkness only to Rise again. Of course the Laiquendi greatly feared the part about the fall of the Maiden to darkness, and they knew the dark lord seeked her though none could see why. So it was one day when their home became to dangerous for the young elf that a party set out with Llinos in hand and set to take her to Lorien. But they did not make it. Over come by the darkness in the Mist Mountains the baby was snatched, most feared that the dark lord had heard the Myths about the Lady of the Dawn and how she would overcome the darkness and rise above and had set out to kill her. And so they mourned for years that she was lost from Middle-Earth forever. But it was not so. The dakr Lord did not kill the child but took her to Moria where she ran free in the caves scarping a life from scraps that were convienintly left about, a scrappy child, she managed to survive but never escape Goblins and Orcs would not let her pass. By the time she was an adult she'd lived her whole childhood in darkness only the great windows of Dwarrowdelf offered her any sign of the outside world, but life went on. It was in Dwarrowdelf that she was found, by a group of Elves that had entered the mines for proof of their bravery, they found her thin and pale slinking about the darkness and led her to the light, though the great forces tried to hold her with the help of her new friends she escaped and so the Lady of the Dawn rose from the darkness and all behold her.
She went to Lorien where Galadriel rejoiced at her rising, she found new health and virtue and was given the ring that had waited so long for her and the necklace of her lost Mothers, the North Star. And so to this day the Lady of the Dawn, Llinos, still strives through the darkness to rise each morning amd still the darkness hunts her...
