In the beginnig, there was darkness. The there were those who could see in the darkness. Peoples of the caves of the Mountains. Deep they lived, away from all other forms of life. They evolved to be great miners and they delved for pretty things, crystals adn metals of all kinds. They were peraceful and were unaware of the world outside.
Outside, unknown to them, the world was changing, and there were Others out there. Trees and feilds, animals adn birds that flew over the mountain homes of the darkness people. They knew nothing of the people that had evolved in the light adn the Light peoples knew nothing of them.
The people of the Drakness, they nothing of war, battle and, they had no knowledge of any Enemy. To fight, there must be an Enemy, but without an Enemy there can be no war. They felt no bitterness, and they shared, and they lived in contentment with others around them. They worked for the survival of themselves, as a people, the only life ashtye knew it.
This yearn to survive brought the downfall of their race. One day, they delved to deep. They had no knowledge that they livd in a mountain adn so they did not know about the Edge, as they now call it in the deeper mines, where still there dwell poeple who have never seen the Light of the Sun. One day a group of poeple, delved to far and they bit straight throught hte Edge of the mountain adn came out onto the Side. It was at that time night adn they were fooled to thinking that they were in a huge chasam, but a few hours later, while the Dwarves,as Men and themselves now call them, were resting and sleeping from their labour through the edge, the Sun rose. When the Dwarves awoke, they were blinded at first, adn they ran back to the hole in the Side of the Mountain, scared for tehy thought the chasm was on fire. But their eyes grew used to Light. they discovered trees and birds that grew and flew over their Mountain.
This group returned to their homes and drew togetehr great store of food to take with them ona journey and in great uproar from their Elders, they left the Mountain to search this New Land and discover what was beyond the confines of their Mountain.
They found Peoples, Men and Elves. And it was the Men, that caused their distruction. The Men put a price of the jewels and metals that the Dwarves had mined from their Homes adn so The Dwarves argued as to who had the best, whereas before, they had worked together and what was yours was your neighbours. Before it was 'us', now it was 'them' and 'me'.
The Dwarves returned to their homes bitter aginat each other and their bitterness spread through the Dwarves as the idea of 'value' came into being. The descendants of these first adventurous dwraves are in a constant fued, not always in physical form, but they do not lie each other.
The Men had also given the Dwarves an idea of Weapons and War.

Ruccus sat in the forge, waiting. He seemed to spend most of his life waiting for something, waiting to grow up, wating to be Presented to the King. Waiting, most of all to see, the Text. The text as ffar as he could remember was ancient adn sacred, but for all he knew, it was just a few musty pieces of dry paper with wotrds on that he could not understand. He had never been able to work out what signifcance it held in the Dwarf community, except that it was the Text by which the new king was sworn into office, promising to uphold the tradtions and rituals for all dwarves. And that was ll he knew about it. His father had never told him any more than that.
He had said it will all become apparent when you are older. As you know, this is the most annoying thing a son or daughter can ever be told by its parents. But Ruccus had sat and waited, but still nothing had become apparent to him about the Text adn it still was just a book.
But it had been stolen. This was not a fact athat was common knowledge, but it was common knowledge tyhat the old King was about to step down from office and give way either Taldrak of the Draknus clan or Olbrekt of the Narthius clan. bot clans were powerful and hated each other with such ancient hatred it was a given avent for every so often a new battle to break out between the two. Everyone had got used to it.
Ruccus was the last remaining son of the Doldramoth clan, Ancient, but weak adn crippled throw age. But it had been this clan that had guarded the entrance to the Text Shaft, thye place where the text had been held, chained to a lecturn, waiting for its time to be read.
It had been stolen from under the noses of the Doldramoth clan and then they had been accused of stealing it. And Ruccus was the munber one suspect. But he was innocent adn he needed to clear his name. All the judges were biasd against him adn his family and all thw dwarves in the mountain suspected him as well, so known of them would help.
He needed outside help.
A few days later he gathered together all he needed (his battle axes and his throwing axes, his knives adn his hip flask) and he left. His aim was to find help for himsefl adn his families onour. People who knew nothing about the Dwarf systems would be best because they would have an impartial view of the situation and would be better to find the Text adn prove his innocence.
He decied to starty with the nearest inn, a matter of 75 miles away from him adn his Home.

Hey, the other account person in here (Lomiodien) is me as well.

This not only shows that I don't even recognize my own account, but also that my computer is screwed up and logged me in as that one.

That account is a back-up cause my computer crashes sometimes and deletes almost all my account information for everything for a couple of days. That account won't be used pretty much at all and the only reason I responded to both was because I was dazed, confused and out of it so I didn't recognize my real account... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0> Blondes... The stars were glittering brightly in the dark blue sky. No clouds were to be seen but how Elennim hoped that his heart would be as clear as the night sky was now.

Elennim was a wanderer, not of his will, as homeless he was. He did not know where he hailed from, he did not know his purpose here, he did not know what happened before he lost his memories.

Always there were pieces of past that came back to his mind, scrambled, bearing pain if he tried to push harder to regain the missing pieces.

He has trod numerous lands and woods just to find any trace, or learned from any songs or lores that would give him a hint to reveal his past.

(go with the flow <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> )

LN peered through the dark trees that were her cover. The night sky was bright but not from the moon. The stars' light was dancing on the ground and the trees. Ahead of her she could see a lone figure and headed closer.

She was an elf, almost invisible amidst the trees and bushes. She was silent and unseen, creeping closer to the figure, wondering who would be out by themselves in this land. The features of the stranger started to become clear, but she could only make out that it was not a woman, but still couldn't tell of what race. Her eyes still burned from the sweat and blood that was slowly trickling down her face from her previous encounter deep in the woods.

Behind her something moved, almost unseen. It was her horse, Linte coming slowly behind her but keeping his distance, ready to come when he was needed but he was at ease. This figure did not seem like a stray evil being and Linte was relaxed as he could be in the middle of the night after a large encounter with hideous creatures of the night.

The She-Elf was so close she could see the light of the stars reflecting in the beings eyes. Removing her hood she climbed atop a tree and looked down at the stranger, wondering what she was to do now...

The grass rustled and swayed to the wind that blew east. The wind was chiling cold and it had a different air in it, not quite like those from the mountains, which were normal to Elennim. The wind must have came from the seahe thought. Yes, the sea. It was in one of the fragment of memories that he would always went through.

He recalled that he was looking into the vast sea... he turned around and saw a huge land, it was bright and glorious... he was sailing away far, far away from the land... the land past out into the darkness...

Elennim shook away the thought of darkness out of his head. Not good to think of darkness when shadows are far away. His vigilance had not wane away, already he perceived the existence of something near him. He halted and called out towards the eaves of the forest, "Step out to the light of Elbereth, roamer in the dark!" He placed his hands on his sheath, ready to draw his sword if there was any attacker.

A shadowy figure moved out from the darkness. It was not alone, there was another dark shape behind it.

LN saw the starnger grasp his sword and she looked back at Linte who was standing motionless back into the trees. She turned so she could make her way down when the branch she was sitting on snapped.

She crashed to the earth right infront of the stranger. She looked up and somewhat smiled when she saw a kind face of a fellow elf. She stood up and rubbed her back, which had taken the brunt of the fall and then smiled fully.

"It's just like me to trust a tree not within Mirkwood to stand beneath a weight."

She brushed herself off and check her bow and quiver for any damage along with her blade. Satisfied she looked at the stranger, noting his face and eyes.

"I am Losthoroniel Nuintarmaiel. I am sorry if I have startled you and hope you are not offended that I did not come out in the open to introduce myself. I have encountered many vile things in the woods as of yet and I wasn't too sure."

She looked at the elf and wiped her hand across her forehead, feeling the cut rip and bleed new as her hand crossed over it. She winced and took her hand away.

"What are you doing all alone out beside a wood so late at night? There are fell things about and you should be traveling with someone."

She looked back into the woods and saw Linte still standing in the same place but looking intently at her. She whistled a high short note and he neighed in reply, trotting happily out of the woods, not to her but to the stranger. He stopped infront of him and seemed to be sizing him up, he sniffed him and snorted in approval.

"He's an odd one I tell you. Watch out for him and you don't want to make him mad."

She laughed and patted his neck lovingly, combing his mane with her hand as he shifted his weight to go against her.

"Do you have a horse? It is a long way yet to anywhere and would go much faster with one. If you wish I could lend you one."

She looked at him with her brown green eyes, the stars shining in them as bright as they were in the sky.

"I am heading for an inn just on the other side of these woods, if you wish to come with me. It's a rather good inn with fine food and drink, as far as inns go that is. There you could rest and you can tell me what you are doing here in the middle of the night all alone."

She smiled and then turned away. When she faced him again she had an apalogetic look on her face.

"I am sorry if I have been rude. It has been a long time since I have met anyone freindly, let alone my own race and I am excited to be able to talk to someone who won't pester me for an apple half way through the conversation."

Linte nudged her back, neighing lowly.

"He's a nice companion on long trips, but not like another being."

The glacier shown away from Ruccus as he tramped along its rock strewn edge. He had been travelling for days with little food, but ofcourse there was plenty of water, but a question of how to melt the ice to get it. He had brought a little fire wood with him, but this w3as running out quickly as the nights grew colder as the winter approached up in the mountains. it would not his the plains for a couple more mounths.
The moonlight iluminated several figures, making their way back up the ice flow, towards him. He drew his axes and began to heft them, preparing for the inevitable fight that was to come. These were Mountain goblins, driven form their mountains by hunger adn the wrath of a leader, perhaps. But for whatever the reason they were closing in on Ruccus.
They closed in, circling the dwarf as to cut off his escape, but being a dwarf he wasn't planning to run away. He had expected this adn was ready for it. He had fought battle like this before, just skirmishes at any rate and he wasn't about to loose this one to a few hungry goblins.
The rushed in on him, breaking the circle adn Ruccus ducked the clumsy swings and darted out of the ring. This was an excepted tatic in these situations and he ran from one Goblin to another, slicing up and across with his axes, as to rip the torso in half and then to pierce the heart. he dispatched around eight goblins in this manner and then got their bearing s and all closed in. His axes twisted adn twisled in his hands, rucking up the already corse callases on his fingers and palms. He fought until there was one left and then the Goblin panicked, seeing he was alone, adn ran blindly out onto the glacier adn pershied by collapsing thin ice and tumbling into a cravace.
Ruccus retreaved his axe from a Goblin and truged on his way, until the ice cracked beneath his iron shod boats and he dived forward to stop himself falling, this had the by product of him half rolling, half sliding down the glacier, gettin closer tyo its end, trying his best with his axes to stop himself. He failed, adn he slid off the end adn landed on his pack.
Ahead of him lay trees and a road leading away from the glacier path he had been trying his best to take. Along that road he knew there was an Inn.

LN turned her head quickly as she caught something a small distance away. She peered into the thick trees where the road disappeared into.

"Did you hear that? Now, I know a battle cry when I hear one and they definately sounded like orcs, or maybe goblins."

She stood and listened for a while longer and then threw herself on the ground, ear pressed tightly to the soft earth. She listened intently for a long time then quickly got up.

"Just beyond those trees and down the road the mountains start and from there a large glacier. Something was heading this way when the earth cracked and moved. THe footsteps were not of orc or goblin. Heavier almost, and sturdier. I fear there might be someone in need."

She lightly jumped onto Linte's back and looked down at the elf.

"Do you need a ride or do you want to meet me at the inn? I will only be a moment and should be back soon."

She gave her hand down to him to help him up if he wished to go...

(sorry, this event below happened before they heard the sound)

Suddenly, the shadow fell to the ground and revealed itself under the starlight. To his suprise, the shadow was not some orcs nor foul creatures lurking in the darkness, but a lady of his kin! She smiled at him, even though they had not met before. She checked her weapons, they were undamaged, then she introduced herself to him. From her words, he knew that the lady in front of him was Losthoroniel Nuintarmaiel, but she did not mention her purpose out in the lands in the middle of the night. He noticed too the wound on her forehead while she was talking, perhaps she need treatment over that

When he was about to speak to her, she whistled a high short note. The dark shape which he saw just now came up and it appeared to be a horse.

"My lady, it lightens up my heart to see a kin in far and strange lands. It is kind of you to offer me your horse, yet shouldn't you be riding it yourself when you're wounded? Here, let me clean your wound first." he brought her to the nearest tree and laid her back against it. He took out his bottle of water and cleaned her wound with a small piece of soft cloth. Then he dabbed some mixture of herb onto it, the medicine has good effects on cut wounds.

"Lucky the cut wasn't deep, it will heal in a matter of days, and be assured that it'll leave no scar," for the first time since he met this elf-lady, he smiled. "I did not think you were rude, in these wild countries, one has to be in constant vigilance.

" I do not know your purpose here in the middle of the
night, but since we will talk about it when we reach the inn, I'll be glad to hear it. Though the inn be a good place for rests and meals, yet there's still strangers and people not known to us there; if your matter is of importance, I don't think we should discuss it there." he put back his glass of medicine and water-bottle."Come, let us make for the inn now. I think you need some rest," he gave his hand for Losthoroniel to get up, then he helped her to mount her horse. "I'll walk beside you," said Elennim.

There was no moon hanging up in the sky, they walked into the woods together under the faint starlight sheltered by the shades of the trees. Elennim looked up and saw a bright silver star through a crack between the canopies. His light blue eyes glimmered like waters in a deep pool. "This forest is not dense and wide, so we should reach the inn by dawn. Tell me if you need a break, the inn can wait," he smiled again, now looking into the brown green eyes of his new met friend. Yes, she's a friend to him, though he thought perhaps she would not feel that way.

I have an extra horse and if he is to your liking you can ride him."

She whistled again but this time it was long and low. A dark horse came out of the woods near them, his black mane flowing in the night air and his glossy coak shimmering with the reflection of stars.

"This is Caláng, his name means stardust and he is a faithful steed. Rucus's eyes, used to daarkness in the bottom of mines could see almost like he could in day, during the night, if there were stars like tonight. He like the stars, one of only a few of his kin that did. He sometimes wished he had een born Outside, so that he could have known which he was born under, but that would never happen. He had been born under the stone of Mountains and that was ultimately where his heart lay. His eyes wandered around the tree line, trying to spot more danger. He saw two figures, both Elf-kind. As he watched and walked towards them, one broke off and came towards him.
He was in no mood to fight again adn he feared that the elf would be hostile towards him, as was the custom of elves and dwarves when they met. Ruccus had met few elves, but had found them good people (he laughed when he thought it) after they had got over the first tensions. But he was tired and hungry, and his leg bled from a small, but deep sliced wound he had sustained from a scimatar.
He watched as the figure came towards him adn he ducked behind a huge boulder, left by the receeding glacier. He hefted his axes, just incase it came to fight that he would probably lose.

As LN headed forward she saw a dark figure slip off the path. She dismounted and proceeded towards the boulder behind which the figure had gone behind. She pulled out her bow and notched an arrow, but held it loosely in her hands, not knowing what it was behind the boulder. She heard something and stopped. Breathing.

Only a dwarf could breath that loudly. She though as she now continued towards the boulder. Putting her bow and arrow away and straightening her tunic, (not wanting to make a bad first impression) she cleared her throught and called to the dwarf.

"Do not be afraid. We will not hurt you Master Dwarf."

She laughed as she heard the breathing faulter and smiled pleasantly as a dwarf cautiously peered out from behind the rock, axe in hand and ready for use.

"Put down your axe Master Dwarf. I am no orc as you can tell."

She laughed musically and turned back to her fellow elf.

"Tis a dwarf! And I think he is wounded badly onhis leg. You may need to take a look at it."

She turned back to the dwarf,

"Although I am fairly good with cleaning wounds, I'm dreadful at stitching."

Her eyes danced with jest and her true personality shone through as clear as the moon and morning stars...

He looked around the woods and found out that it was uncannily quiet. Just then, they both saw a dark figure disappeared behind a large boulder off the path, about ten feet ahead of them. Losthoroniel dismounted her horse and walked towards the huge boulder beside the road, he followed behind.

She let out a clear laugh, "Tis a dwarf! And I think he is wounded badly on his leg. You may need to take a look at it." He stepped over and crouched in front of the dwarf. "I'm Elennim," he turned to Losthoroniel apologetically, "and sorry, my lady, for not introducing myself in the first place. I have forgotten about it when I saw that you are wounded." He looked at the dwarf, there was a deep sliced wound on his leg. "Now, Master Dwarf, if you would let me take a closer look at your wound, I perhaps might stop the bleeding." The dwarf did not make a sound.

Elennim took out the glass of medicine he used just now. He cleaned the cut and applied it on."Alas, there is poison within. We must rid it when we reach the inn, for I do not have the right remedies to heal you." He looked at Losthoroniel, "We must now ride faster to the inn."
Moriana stepped down from the large boulder. There were people over in the distance. At least one seemed to be injured.

Scanning the horizon, Moriana gasped. Orcs. Two dozen or so of them. Those people down there had no idea! And the orcs were headed straight for them. Mounting her horse Liko, she rode on as quickly as she could, down the long, slightly steep, hillside.

After what seemed like an hour (but in fact had been a matter of minutes) She reached them. Two elves and a dwarf. They all looked up, and the male elf reached for his weapon.

"Please, i am a friend! You must move...Orcs...coming. Quickly... right for you... Got here as fast as i could... no time!" She said this all very fast, her bright green eyes shining. "I came to warn you, please believe me. Come here." She said, holding out her hand to male elf. He reluctantly came, and she led him to a big rock jutting out of the ground. "Up here." She said. "Look, they should be east somewhere."

"You get that dwarf to safety. I'll lead the orcs away from here." She said to him. "I'll meet you at the inn. It's not too far from here. A few minutes. Please, get him away from here." She said pleadingly.

And with that, she mounted Liko and rode off toward the orcs. They stopped and watched her pass, then followed. Soon they were out of sight.

Moriana turned. She hopped off Liko and brought out her sword. Her blade whirled and sang. Before an hour was up, all the orcs were dead. Moriana had a big gash on her left side. It was deep. She made her way to the inn.

She opened the door. Not many people were in there. She saw the others, and made her way over to them, clutching her side. The pain was unbearable. They didn't see her wound. "They're all dead. I got back as fast as i could." She said shakily. It hurt to talk. She was very pale.

They didn't have time to answer before she blacked out.
"I am better than she, so see to her before me," as the Elf that had saved him tried to dress his wounds, while he was by the fire, having a drink. The elf that had come up to them on the horse had come in an collapsed, blood soaking through her clothes and pooling on the floor.
As soon as the dwarf adn the two elves had come, in the few people who were still there had left. No one liked to get involved with a situation, especially up in the mountains, especially when there were Orcs involved.
The barman, a man named Ogg, and one of the elves pulled a bench towards the fire and layed the passed out elf on to it and peeled away from the wound, all the clothes and armour, laying besied the elf.

After arriving at the inn she dismounted and walked inside, the dwarf beside it. It was rather odd seeing a dwarf in the inns, as well as an elf but nothing surprised the few guests in the inn then seeing both enter at the same time and take a seat by the fire together.

LN looked at his wound and sighed,
"I hope Elennim gets here soon. I do nt know how to clean wounds that well."

Just as she said this Elennim and the stranger came in, Elennim seemed to be fine yet the stranger collapsed nearly half way in.

"Oh dear!"

LN ran beside her and helped Elennim get her to the fire where she could be warm as the dressed her wounds...

The upright elf tended to the fallen one for a long time. Ruccus began to recover his strength adn when he thought about it, he wasn't realy badly injured, just very tired. He rest where he was for long while, adn then threw off his blankets and stood up, rubbing adn warming his hands near the fire.
He staggered over to his pack which lay a few metres away from log fire. He knelt, stiffly, and rummaged through it, his mental inventory doing its work. Everything was in place, which wasa surprise to him as he had slid a long way down the glacier, but that is the way dwarves pack for long journeys, the bindings are made to last. He pulled a little leather pouch from an inside pocket to his armour. He stood and hobbled over to the fire. He took a pinch of what ever was inside it and threw it into the fire. The logs exploded in a shower of sparks and ash.
"What in Valinor did you do that for?!"
"Just checking...it wasn't..um..waterlogged."
"Well, maybe you could have waited!"
"Sorry, i didn't think."
"That," said the Elf,"is obvious." She added under her breath, Typical Dwarf!!

The stranger who warned them about the gang of orcs just now collapsed suddenly in front of him. He quickly broke her fall while LN hurried up to help him. The barman pulled a bench towards the fire and they laid the stranger on it. Elennim disappeared behind the room. He came back later with a small pot in his hand. LN has already taken off the stranger’s armour.

There was a deep wound on her left. “This is the medicine which Master Dwarf was using just now. I bought it from the innkeeper, cure various poison effectively.” he said while washing the cut. After the treatment, they took her upstairs to a room and laid her to rest. “She shall be fine, though this cut may need more than a week to heal. Come on, let’s head down and leave her to rest.”

When LN and Elennim were downstairs again, they sat beside the fireplace where Master Dwarf was sitting there too. He did a trick just now and the fire exploded into a shower of sparks and ashes. The barman served them drinks and they began to talk. “A lot of things happened just now, yet we haven’t properly introduced ourselves. My name is Elennim. I’m a wanderer, always in search for something that I believe will reveal my true self. By chance, perhaps fate, I met this lady here,” he beckoned to LN who was sitting beside him. “Along our way to the inn, we met you, Master Dwarf. So would you kindly tell us your name? What a strange day for so many meetings!”
"I am glad to have run into you Elennim, and again, I apologize for such a rude first meeting."

She too jumped as the sparks shot out and settled back into her seat after they had gone and grumbled something under her breath.

"Yes Master Dwarf, I wish to know who you are for most dwarves I've encoutnedred have traveled in larger parties then yourself."

Moriana awoke. She tried to sit up, but pain raced through her and she laid back down. A short time later, the elven man walked in.

"Hello" she said to him weakly. "I'm sorry for being such a bother. I just couldn't watch anyone get hurt. I've seen enough of that already. I am Moriana. And you?"

The stranger replied "Elennim. We're glad you are finally awake. We were worried for a while. And you were no bother."

"Thank you. I.. how is the dwarf?" She was glad to hear that he was doing well. "I must get up. I cannot stay here for too long. not in one place. It's not safe for too long. How many nights have i been here, asleep?"

Moriana tried to get up but LN placed a hand on her soulder, preventing her from rising anymore and lightly pushed her back down.

"You musn't try to get up. The stitches will hold, but not if you go and run around again. You must stay here until your wound has improved. With Elennim's medicine and skill, I am sure you will be out by tomorrow night. As for the moment while you stay here, we will protect you against anything."

She smiled kindly and looked out one of the only windows in the old inn and saw the sun rise.

"Yes, I am sure with Elennim's help you will be able to leave to wherever you wish by nightfall."

She stood and went to the bar and ordered enough food for everyone and brought it back, making two trips ith two enormous trays piled with food.

"I know the inn keeper here. I come here frequently when I travel and he is a kind man once he learns to trust you."

"You don't understand. I have to go! I cannot stay here any longer. HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN HERE? None of you are safe if i stay here. It's happened before. I was in a village. It was very small, a few houses only. I was taking care of the wounded. I stayed outside, watching. I didnt sleep that night. I had a bad feeling" Her voice was shaking. She looked over at Elennim and continued. "Nothing came into the village. When dawn came, I went into one of the houses. A little girl lived there, who i was very fond of. Dead. Everyone. No one was left alive in the village. Someone knew i was there. i had that same feeling many times before, but always heeded it and left where i was. But that time i had stayed. And suffered the consequences. They were all brutally murdered. It forces me to go on, never to settle anywhere. So you see, i must leave. You can come if you wish, but i cannot stay here."

LN took her hand off Moriana's shoulder and looked intently at her as she told her story and her eyes were filled with sympathy when she finished.

She looked at Elennim and then the dwarf, then back to Moriana,

"I shall go with you as a companion on lonely roads, if you wish. I want to travel more."
