Well here it is. An ooc for the new roleplay: What Remains
I'm not that good at starting threads (as you can most certainly tell) so I guess I'll just wing it. ^.~

Hi, my characters name would be Derstil, and he is from Lothlorien. Originally from Nargothrond though. I'd like to join. I'm in another Rp, called the gift of Melyanna, if you wanna see what i've done so far. I hope to be a valuable asset to this group, and by the way why would the children of a maiar be afraid of an assasin that works for their dad. Just saying.
He's Elven from the house of Finrod Felagund. He's tall as all elves are and he carries a good supply of Lembas, always. He is adorned with a grey elven cloak, woven by Galadriel herself.

When he was in Nargothrond, he gave up the bow and picked up an orcish scimitar (that he doesn't name), because when Turin led them out of secrecy, he felt he could weild it faster. But he still carries a dagger called Kirist in case the foul scimitar breaks or betrays him.

Derstil is known for his quick riding and his surpassing ability to conceal himself, even from other elves. He was also taught great skill in swordsmanship by Orodreth, Finrod's brother.

He is a dancer and a great harpist. He takes after Finrod when asked why he doesn't marry, and will never openly admit that he has a secret affection towards Arwen, now King Elessar's queen.

I tried to make an ooc, with the thread. Sorry about that. I think that they'll will get rid of it.

oopsie I guess I accidently posted to that one(oh well). I guess I'll tell you a bit more about Tayril.

She was born during the first war of the ring. Her mother was an elven maiar named Arien (Quenya meaning: Maia of the Sun) who was also part of the councle of the Valar. Nobody really knows why she 'turned to the darkness' in the first place. Well her mother died when she was about a hundred years old. With both Maiar and elven blood in her, she is able to weild both a wizard's staff and a sword which she calls Ardamire (Jewel of the world). She is quite self-dependent though can sometimes be too overprotective of her brother. She pretends he's annoying, but truly, she cares for him a lot. Most of the time she's pretty much even-tempered, but when she gets mad, she ten times angrier than the average person. Being young and knowing so little of the world surrounding gives her, her own set of troubles. But she manages to keep a pretty upbeat attitude (not always tho)

Heya! Could I join you? I have a variety of different characters, but I thought I'd give this one some exercise <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Name : Lanuviel, daughter of Glorfindel
Race: Elf
Height: 6'1"
Occupation: General wanderer - no fixed job as such.
Weapons: A finely-wrought bow, quiver (complete with arrows) and three long knives at her belt.
Looks: Tall, slender. Golden hair much like that of her father, and startlingly blue eyes.
Temperament: Generally softly-spoken, though on occasions her temper has been known to rise - when angered, Lanuviel does nothing by halves. Generally she keeps to herself, preferring to wander the wilds alone than spend time among others - though she has been known to socialise every now and then <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
Skills: Being an Elf, her natural senses are heightened - eyesight, hearing, etc. Her skill mainly lies with the weapons she chooses to carry on her person, though she does have some skill with a sword and other weapons.

What do you think?

Beleger likes to keep quiet and comes across quite shy. This is not true. He prefers not to be the center of attention, liking to slip ina nd slip out unnoticed. He had good aim with his bow and can weild his sword better than his sister, much to his delight. He cant weild a staff, much to his regrets and attempts. He named his sword Astrid (divine strength). Although he seems dependant on his older sister he has often suprised people with his ability to 'stick up' for himself. He has always been dark although it has growen through out the length of his life. Any one can see the darkness in his eyes. He has, like his sister, a short temper and can become quite viscous when he is angered. He hates and mistrusts most beings apart from his sister and enjoys the feeling of killing and pain. Most of the strangers he meets he thinks are out to get him.

Noones really been posting in this ooc, have they, oh well, I hope that people will start. I finally got my post in an some other people have posted too. It's usually a good idea to have every one who is going to post in the rp put their bio in the ooc. IT just lessens the confusion, with the characters and creates a better understanding of who that person is.

Hello, may I play? I'll usually get here on weekends at least. Here's my character for approval:

Laeara’s is a strange, sad story. She has no memory of childhood, or family. She only knows that she has been around for a long, long time. She wandered from Khand, although she has no name for the place. Laeara lives like an animal in the wild, with an Elven knife as one of only two possessions. She does not know how she got it, only that she has it and that it kills. She lives as she always has: eating, keeping warm and dry, and avoiding enemies. That is all life is to her, but she is much more.

Laeara is an empath. She cannot speak, but strangely understands all languages. Only Elves and those with Elven blood (such as Numenoreans) can understand her. She, however, has no knowledge of this, never (until now) having contact with such people. All she knows of the races are the Orcs and Southron Humans (which she avoids, or kills if she must). Those have only attacked her. Unfortunately, when a creature near her is injured, she feels every pain. As such, she avoids killing if she can. She fears only imprisonment.

Laeara appears to be a simple Human woman, of medium height, with brown hair kept shoulder-length by messy knife cuts. All of her rather meager clothing is plundered from dead enemies, save
a golden locket she has always had with a strand of black hair inside, which she guards with her life, although she can’t understand why. Overall, she looks filthy, but for her forest green eyes that retain an ageless fire. If she is cleaned, Laeara will be shockingly beautiful. She will travel North, through Ithilien.

Hi,

I would like to play as well, if I could. Mt character is Rhiennan, an elf from Lorien. She is tall and lithe in frame, with long golden ringlets. Her eyes are sea grey and her skin is very fair. She was found abandoned by the river Nimrodel when she was but a babe. The Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn took her into their home, with her never knowing otherwise.

She is gentle and kind. She is quite adapt with both bow and long sword having trained among the best of the Galadhrim.

Well, hope I can join!

Rhiennan

That sounds good to me. I'm not evil, all good! Shall we leave together or meet up? Is there a synopis for the thread anywhere or are we winging it? I can't wait to get started. I have a post in the scriptorium, called a Story of Amroth and Nimrodel, if you would like a sample of my work.

Rhiennan

The sunlight sparkled through the trees, casting the shores of the Anduin in golden brilliance. Rhiennan’s boat stood ready, having been well packed with needed supplies. Her father, Celeborn, stood behind her, rambling on again over every little detail. She remembered well how it had taken the combined efforts of her mother and herself to win his approval to take leave. Smiling, she turned around to face him; casting her head down slightly, she used her fiercest weapon, as deep pools of grey ensnared him from beneath curls of gold.

“Father, I will be fine. You have taught me well, my bow sings from years of your teaching, my sword is swift and fierce. Little should you fear for me.”

“Aye, I have heard those words before…” his face clouded then with the loss that never quite left him. Rhiennan did not interrupt his thoughts; she knew though his torment was deep, its time was brief. Putting his hands on her shoulders, she raised her gaze to his. “Stand tall my daughter for your time has come. Trust in Derstil; he will not lead the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn astray. May the blessing of Elbereth shine upon you”. He kissed her cheek softly, returning to the clearing by her mother. Rhiennan pushed the boat into the waters, hopping quickly inside. “Uuma dela Lirimaer”, echoed in her mind, as her mother bid her farewell, “Do not worry, lovely one”. She nodded to her deeply, bidding her own farewell. Paddling swiftly into the main current, her journey had begun. She said a silent prayer to Ulmo, her course chartered for Emyn Muil and the Lord Derstil.

ooc: Hope this is okay!
Hey Rheinnan, THat sounds good, but how do you know, that i'm going to emyn muil, and Celeborn only had one child, she was married to Elrond, and went into the west after being tormented by orcs. I think you can hold the daughter thing though, i'm sure we can pull it off. But i might edit the emyn muil thing, just say that your looking for me or something. no prob though.

Sorry Derstil, let me explain my character. Rhiennan is the foster daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel, although only they know this, for now. Sorry about the Emyn Muil thing, but we could just encounter each other there, if you'd like. I also posted on this thread instead of the main story line, but I did correct that.

If this is okay, you can start our meeting at Emyn Muil. I'm new here at TORC so please forgive me my mistakes!

I'm looking forward to playing!

Rhiennan

I think it's turning out great! sorry I haven't been on in a while peeps. my mom grounded me from this site *sniff* until I got my grade in civics up to an A. (hey I had a high b)

I find myself to be a lot like Tayril. Of course, I don't have a "dark side" that's trying to take me over (later in the story, later in the story) and I'm not the daugther of sauron (that would be scary. I'd be even worse.) ^^;

--------------------------
Her tender hands turn tangles loose.
From gum in hair, to knots in shoes.
A quilter's skill, a mothers joy,
she frees the little girls and boys.

sometimes I picture God that way,
untangling all the mess I've made.
Unraveling my kite so I can fly again, someday.
sometimes I picture God that way.

hey, I'm thinking of changing my alliance, but I'm not sure what I should use. I was thinking that because of the role play I migth do either Mordor or Minas Morgul. What do you all think I should choose?

I promise to post soon, either later tonight or early morning. I, too, like the idea of brainstorming here. So Elfin Jedi, if you have a direction in mind, please let us know. I'm just kind of throwing myself in, so Bema, tell me if I do something you don't agree with, or anyone else for that matter. I like your ideas Ruccus, this is going to be quite fun, I believe.

Rhiennan

Well, the path that they're on is the one that Gollum mentions, "heading for milesss and milesss around the Dead Marshesss." I plan, after they find out who the elf is, to skip to when they have reached the border of Mordor(or as they say in Project winkle: *sploop!* clean cut!) and then some more stuff happens and they'll end up in Lothlorien, but that's all I have for now.

^^
