OOC: We are on our way to Mirkwood!
Where it is starting: I am in Bree.

It was a dark night. The wind was howling like a thousand wolves. It was starting to rain as Aina approached the gate to Bree. She knocked. "Who is it, and what be your business!?" an old gate keeper yelled opening a small slot. "I am Aina, from Mirkwood, my business is my own. I am looking for a warm bed and some food,"the elf maiden said. "An elf is it, not many round these parts! Well, come in," he said and opened the gate. Before she went on her way, she asked, "Do you know of a good Inn i could stay the night over?" "Do I!" he exclaimed, "Why, the Prancing Pony is the best one around...just up the street that way." "Thank you," she said.

The wind and rain was really picking up now. She took her horse to the stable, and then made her way up the street, looking for the Prancing Pony. A sign with a rearing white horse, blowing in the wind, caught her attention. Sure enough, The Prancing Pony.

As she walked through the door into the crowded inn, many faces turned up and stopped talking. They had never seen such an odd character come through here in a while. Aina had her cloak drawn up so they couldn't see she was an elf, if her clothing did not give it away. What they saw was a strange being clad in green and brown. She was dressed as though she was a man, yet had a very fair face. She wore an elven cloak that was grey green. She had an elven bow and quiver of arrows upon her back, and hidden beneath the cloak was a straight sword and elven dagger.

"What can I get you sir?" the kindly looking man behind the counter asked. Good, they think I am a man! She thought. "I need a bed and some food," she replied. "Good enough, I am Barliman, the inn keeper, and if you will go with this young man, he will fix you right up!" he said. "Thank you," she said.

After finding where her room was, she went back to the bar. She ordered a cup of water, and some drunk men thought this odd. "Not man enough to drink real beer?" one said. "Oh yes, but I choose not to become a drunkard fool, thank you!" she said back. "A smart mouth you got! I'll teach you a thing or two!" he yelled back and threw a punch. She dodged it lightly. He threw another, and again she stepped away. He threw himself at her and she jumped over him like a cat. "You move like an elf! I'll be beat by no elf!" he spat, and went for her again, and again she dodged. He turned back around, but passed out cold. Unfortunately, doing this, her hood fell to her shoulders revealing her pointed ears. An elf. She decided it was obvious enough already, so she returned to a table in the corner and started to drink her water...

OOC: IM BACK!!! MUAHAHAHAH im going to make this come before the old RP, so it has nothing to do with it.
----------------------------
The rain came down hard on the top of Tommy's cloak. His long brown hair had matted against his head, and streams of rain water mingled with tears blurred his vision. His feet were cold and wet, and he shivered as he trudged through the mud and leaves under the grey evening sky. It had been 3 days since he had been cast away from the Shire, his home, and as many days since he had ate or slept. He was begining to feel dizzy with exhaustion and his eyes were blurred by more than water. The last words he had heard before he was cast out echoed in his cold ,numb head. "A beast like you belongs in the wild. My lord, she was only twenty. A CHILD!" These words had been spoken by his father. If only he knew how wrong he was. Suddenly Tommy was snapped from his bleary thoughts to the cold ground as a tree root snagged his trudging feet. Picking his face out of the mud, he looked up, and wiped a handfull of sticky brown slush off of his face. There was something very big in front of him. He squinted hard and rubbed the tears and rain from his eyes. Slowly lights and houses and a large, wooden fence came into focus. He was lying face down on the crest of a hill, looking down into the great village of Bree.

"Hello," Aina said as Hundarus sat at her table. "May I be of service to you?" "I like the way you fight...elf," he said. "I didn't fight, I avoided it. I didn't ask for it either," she said calmly. "And I didn't say you did. You have some skill," he replied. "Thank you," said the elf, "I have learned from past mistakes, if you will." "I see," he said...

Fate walked in the icy rain as it pelted against her. The wind tore at her already cold and numb skin, her cloak was heavy and the hems where beaten and stained with mud. The stray strands of blond hair that had escaped from her hood stuck onto her face. She was an elf, but cold tired and hungry she had traveled far across the land no horse to ride or food to sustain her. Only the hope of a city drove her on, so when she saw the glow of torches at the gate of Bree she quickened her pace. Her bow was stung over her back and her elven made silver sword seemed heavy on her side though was light. Her thoughts swirled around her in the wind and ate away at her soul. The things she had endured haunted her, the wargs near the black gates and the orcs and trolls of the mountains. Nonetheless she forgot about them left them behind in the rain that fell on her and beaded off her cloak and rolled down her face.
Reaching the gates she extended a cold frail white hand and knocked on the heavy door. The door keeper opened a little slot Who is it? he shouted over the rain I-I’m a elf who searches for food and shelter. Fate stuttered he looked at her a moment and say no threat she posed so he opened the door letting her in. She’d been here one other time a long time ago, but the Prancing Pony was around then as well. So Fate went right for it. Coming in through the door she pulled her cloak off and went to the counter. A room please her voice was stronger now that she had gotten in from the cold and warm tea. She looked around the then got her key and was taken to her room she dried herself in her room then came out and received her tea. Walking over to a table by the fire she sipped her tea.
You could see her features now she was an elf, a Mirkwood Elf to be exact. Her long blond hair was tied back with a leather string leaving her pointed ears exposed. She was tall and lanky and her sapphire eyes watched everything. Not much had changed since her last coming here. Fate had been away from home for a few hundred years in Rohan most of the time, but she was ready to leave for home again.

((OOC: I think you guys need longer post before this gets locked))
occI am Brailey Baggins, a hobbit from Buckland, and was wondering if I could join, well here it goes.
_______________________________________

The rain was starting to die down, however the wind was not. Brailey was on her way from Buckland to Bree. She was traveling down the path, it was dark and hard to see what was lying before her on the path. Suddenly she stumbled and fell down, when she stood up she saw that she had stumbled over another hobbit. Brailey could see that the hobbit was weak, she asked him if he was also on his way to the Bree, when he said yes, she lifted him onto her pony and they headed on their way to Bree.

They arrived at gate of Bree, and talked to gatekeeper. The gatekeeper said, "Hobbits, and a sick one at that, mighty strange if you ask me." Brailey replies " Why is it so strange?" The gatekeeper said there were many strange happenings going around, and let them into Bree. Brailey , and the other hobbit continue on until they come to the Prancing Pony. Once there Brailey speaks to Barliman, and checkes out two hobbit size rooms. Then on her way to the rooms she sees an elf that looks very familiar from an somewhere else.
"Yes, I know the way, it is my home and i am returning there. I have been gone too long," said the elf, "Why would you wonder if I knew the way, are you interested in going there yourself?"

As she was asking, her attention was drawn away by two hobbits entering the inn. One was very sick looking, and one was oddly familiar. They went down the hall to their rooms.
As one hobbit returned to the bar, Aina suddenly knew who she was. That was a hobbit who always hung around her when she was in Buckland, constantly asking of my adventures. She must have recognised me too, for she stopped and stared my way.
"Aina!" she exclaimed, "Well well, I didn't expect to see you again! How are you?" Suddenly she got quiet as she noticed the gentelman I was sitting with. "Oh, excuse me, we will talk later Aina," she said blushing, and walked to her own table...

"Oh, I suppose I would be interested, it is never as good traveling alone than with another," said the elf to the man, "But, right now I am tired and need my rest. I would like to talk to you in the morning, if you will." "Yes, i would. We will talk about this more in the morning...talk of when we leave?..." said Handuras. "Alright, goodnight," answered the elf........

As Aina made her way to her room, she passed the hobbit's table. She motioned to come with her and Brailey excidedly followed.

When the two were in Aina's room, she said, "Well well...how are you Brailey?" "I am fine thank you," said the hobbit. "What in the world are you doing out here?" asked the elf. "Oh, I am going on an adventure! Just like you and old Bilbo! Brailey answered. "Oh really! Are you sure you want to, it is not as fun as it sounds..." started the elf. "Oh yes," the hobbit cut in, "I have wanted to all my life. Really though, I want to go with you, now that we've met again." insisted the little hobbit. "Well if you are going on and "adventure" I think you had better go with me, so you don't get yourself in any trouble!" laughed the elf, "Oh, and who was your little freind you came in with, he didn't look very good,"...

"Oh, I am not sure of his name, I found him on my way here and he seemed to be very ill. I think it would be a good idea to wait and take him with us once he gets better if you do not mind, and of course if he wants to come with us. I can't wait until we go on this adventure" Brailey said excitedly, " I have always wanted to go on one, and now I am going on an adventure with an elf that is my friend. Aina`elda~Lasseaz then said, " yes I suppose that you could consider me your friend, and this adventure we are going on," then with a little chuckle said,"i am sure you'll make it interesting. Well you had better get some sleep, and perhaps you should check on your friend, and see if he is feeling any better, and if he isn't come and get me."

I don't know about the fellow i met in the bar, he seemed rather strange to me, oh well, he is someone to travel with...I suppose. Humm, I wonder how Brailey's little freind is doing... as she was thinking this, Brailey burst through the door. "Aina! The hobbit is passed out or something...he is shaking really bad! Come quick!" she exclaimed. "Now, now...calm down, I'm coming...just settle yourself down," said the elf calmly as she started for the hobbit's room.

When they entered the sick hobbit's room, he was shaking violently, but appeared to be passed out. "Brailey, you set here with him and put a bunch of blankets on him. He told her of a little shop at the end of the street. The rain and wind had died down, and now it was only a drizzle. As she came to the end of the street, she saw the little shop and went in. A small old lady came up to her and said, "What can I get 'ye miss? Oh my, an elf!" "I need 'Kings's Foil', do you have any?" replied Aina. "Oh yes, I think I have some in the back, hold on, I never get asked for that much," the old woman said walking into a back room. When she returned, she was carrying an old envelope. "King's Foil it is, old...but still good I know," she said. "How much do I owe you?" asked the elf, even though she didn't know how she was going to pay her. Much to Aina's relief, the woman said, "Oh nothing dear, it 'tis old, and it was payment enough seeing a fair elf again." "Thank you so much. I will remember this," replied the elf and left the shop...

The last thing Tommy remembered was the cold sting of rain on his face and the darkness of the night. He had felt someone lift him and then all had gone dark, and cold. He could see her now. She was sitting in her chair by the fire, quietly knitting a shirt. "hah" he thought "I'll sneak up on her! surprise her good!" But before he could creep closer he noticed a shadow in the corner. She couldnt see the figure creeping closer, but Tommy assumed another character had thought his idea first. Then he heard the tang of metal on metal as a sword was unsheathed, and saw the fire gleam off of cold steel. The hidden assailent then raised the sword with both hands above his head, aiming a blow for the small girl. "ASH, LOOK OUT!" Tommy screamed as he shot up in his bed. He was very confused for a second, and his head seared with blinding pain. The room came into focus. It was small, but not small enough to his tastes. There was the fire, and there was Ashley! Wait,...no,...someone else. BREE! He was on his way to Bree! Then he passed out and.....oh...the dream.. It came back to him in a flood of cold, and he raised his hand to his face to wipe the cold sweat, but he had not the strength, and he collapsed onto the soft bed, slipping again into darkness.

Falling into the helpless folds of time as the world around her swirled into nothing, but a slurr of sound and light. Her tea was gone and she spent her time looking at an old map and tracing her way back home, if the wilderness would let her play it that way. The road was not easy and it was uneven like many of the paths she had crossed. It would be better to find someone to travel with, but who?
She looked about the room that had just came back into focus. No one at the moment, only Drunken fools right now. Instead she got up and went to her room and sat in a chair by the window. Bree had not changed not at all, the streets were the same as were the old buildings.
If she had heard right someone else was planning on heading for Mirkwood. Maybe she would join with them on the road as a extra safty. Now though she was tired and need rest for the trip.
Pulling her hair down from it's bound place and taking her belt off that held her sword. Her cloak was laying on the old chair in the corner and she layed to rest staring at the rafters above.

Brailey was startled, and very flustered when Aina returned. Aina asked what had happened while she was gone. Brailey spilled out the whole story, about Tommy have flashbacks, and then passed out again. Brailey was monstly worried about the outburst about,Ashley, and an intruder comeing from a dark corner. Aina told Brailey to leave the room and calm down, while she made a drink from the King's Foil.

Brailey was really shooken up. Brailey really liked the sick hobbit Aina thought, she was really anxious to get him well. The elf had to admit she didn't want the little guy to die either.

As soon as he smelled the refreshing aroma of the crushed leaves of the kings foil, the hobbit started to quit shaking. He opened his eyes and looked around. Suddenly, he yelled,"Ashley!" "Hush, hush...it's ok, settle down now, you're safe." said the elf. Brailey, hearing the yell, came busting in the room, and startled the sick hobbit again and he cried, "Watch out!!"
"No, no, it's ok, nothing is going to happen, no one is hurt. Brailey!" exclaimed the elf. Brailey was setting on the bed asking the hobbit if he was alright. "Leave him be Brailey, he needs his rest. Go down and get him some hot soup and a drink. Now you, drink this up and you will feel refreshed," said Aina, handing him the drink she made from the kings foil. Brailey scurried out the door, and Aina started singing a soft tune to the hobbit...

Edel had been watching. She saw the elf fight the drunk and the other man come set with her. She saw the two hobbits come in from the rain. She had been courious, the man that came over to talk to the other elf was oddly familiar, and she had a bad feeling about him. She pushed it aside.

Edel was dressed as a human man, she was really an elf. She was careful about her identity. Not many people were kindly to strange elves and such around these parts. Her real clothing and cloak were in her pack in her room. She had been at the Prancing Pony for one night already, and was going to leave today, but the weather disagreed. She was on her way to Rivendell, her home. These strange characters she had been observing from her own little corner seemed as though they were going on some journey, and prehaps would stop by Rivendell. Who knows. She figured she could investigate this issue more in the morning. They had all gone to their rooms, so she decided she would also.

OOC: i started a word aside thread for this! I thought it would be good to go there and kind of describe your character and such, so check it out!

The morning had come. Aina had sang the little hobbit to sleep and he was sleeping now, without shaking or mumbling. Brailey had fallen asleep in a chair by the fire. "Brailey," the elf said softly, "you had better wake up now, we will be leaving today, if everything goes well. I am going down to get you two some breakfast, I shall return shortly, try to stay quiet so you don't wake this little guy up." "Alright," said a sleepy Brailey.

When Aina got to the kitchen, the person she had been talking to the night before was setting at a table. He had a strange twinkle in his eye, the elf thought...I had better be careful. She ordered two plates of bacon and eggs. "Good morning elf," said Hundarus. "Same to you," replied Aina. "It indeed is...i mean because the rain has stopped and it has quieted down...good traveling weather," he said. "Yes of course, but I don't think we will be getting out of here any time this morning," she answered. Hundarus didn't look very pleased. Oh well, Aina thought, if he wants to go with us, he'll have to wait. If only the sick hobbit would get better, then we could take him or get him on his way. Aina got the breakfast and headed back to the hobbits...

Edhel had seen the elf go back up to the hobbits. This would be a good time to talk to her alone, she thought as she started for the rooms.

When she got to the hobbit's room, she knocked lightly on the door. "Who is it?" someone said, it sounded like a Hobbit. "My name is Edhel, I am from Rivendell, may i speak with the elf?" i asked in a fake gruff voice. The small door opened and the elf stepped out. She motioned me to follow her. We went down the hall to some bigger doors and entered one. "May I help you? I am Aina, form Mirkwood," she said. "My name is Edhel, as i said earlier. I am on my way to Rivendell and heard you were going that way," I said in the fake voice. "A man going to Rivendell? May I ask why?" she said kind of puzzled. Pulling back my hood so she could see my real appearance, I said, "It is my home." "Oh, I see, that is very clever. Why are you so careful about not being seen as an elf?" she said supprised. "A friend of mine was killed a while ago while he and I were traveling home, I am more careful now...about being an elf. I have heard that out of Mordor or some such dark place they are paying men in gold for every elf killed, I don't know if it is so...but we should be careful of strangers that aren't elves, I explained. "Yes i suppose so. Anyway...back to the original question...I think it would be fine for you to travel with us. Can you use a wepon, I see the sword..." she replied. "You could say so...I have had to use it a time or two before. I can use a bow very skillfully too, but i don't have one now." I answered.

Far away from Bree, a young elf slept in peace. But his dreams were not so peaceful.
"No, no!" he cried, as he slept. "Why me!"
Some years ago, this elf had lost the most valuable thing to him. He lay in a tree, supported by a homemade floor. Knowing that all was not lost, he remembered his bow and ancient elf blade laying close by.
Under his blanket, Níracas felt warm and safe from all that happened around him. The moon shone brightly as he gazed up at it. He felt an urge to join a company who were also looking for adventure. Falling asleep, he now knew that he would be living a life completely different then before.
”That is alright, if we need one for you, we will make one," Aina replied. She was impressed with this elf, although a little uneasy about her caution not to be seen as an elf around here. Oh well, Aina thought, I will learn the whole story sooner or later, if this elf is accompanying us. Aina didn’t feel threatened by the elf, she kind of liked her. ”I will talk to you further a little later, for now I would like some breakfast and my little hobbit friend is probably getting quite flustered now,” Aina commented. ”Yes, I will talk to you later, I will be down there,” replied the other elf as she pulled the hood up and hid her appearance. She disappeared down the hall.

Aina made her way down the hall to the kitchen. Barliman asked her what be her pleasure, she ordered some bacon and eggs, that looked and smelled quite good. She looked around the tables and didn’t see her other companion. Well he probably went to his room, she thought. Aina got her breakfast and made her way to the hobbit’s room.
Nerwen came into the Inn her hands tightly wrapped around a walking stick. Pulling her hood down she went to the counter and got the attendants' attention,
"Barliman, do tell me what news has come into this small in." Nerwen knew him by name for she had been in this area for a matter of weeks due to weather delays.
"Nothing, new m'lady, besides that fact a few strange characters walked in the eve of yesterday."
"What kind of characters?"
"Uh a few seemed like rangers like yourself, but one moved to quick, two others little people, hobbits I think." with that she stalked off to her room she'd had for a few weeks. Passing a door she heard talking fair, being her curious self she listened silently to the words being spoken inside the room.

" Who was that, what did he want, how did he know you were here, was it a ranger?"

" Brailey!, chill out, that was another elf asking if she can travel with us. I said yes,for I think that it would be good to have another friend with us. Besides she says she can fight well."

" Oh ok, gosh, that other hobbit still hasn't woken yet, I am worried Aina"

The two voices were two very different voices, one sounded like a elfs, yes an elfs for sure and the other was unmistakenly a hobbits. Catching the speakers names Brailey she asumed to be the hobbit and the elf must have been Aina. These must be some of the characters that Barliman had spoken of. Travel? what was so dangerous they needed friends to come with them. She didn't know, but continuing down the hall she entered her room. Leaving the door open and going to the window, Nerwen breathed the fresh air after the smoke filled room she had first entered then the musty dark hallway. What journy, maybe she would have a word with this group and offer her aid.

'Excuse me.'

A small figure clad in forest green robes knocked on the door, and Aina opened it. 'How may I help you?'

'Be you the one they call Aina?'

'Yes, that I am. Do I know you?'

'No, I do not think you do. Word travels fast in this inn, and I heard you were going to Mirkwood. I have some business there, and was just looking for travel companions.' The voice was light and the owner pulled back the hood, revealing the young face of a fifteen year old girl. She had long blonde hair and deep hazel eyes. 'My name is Buddy Ranger. May I come in?'

'Certianly. Welcome, Buddy. This is Brailey.' she said, motioning to the hobbit in the room. Buddy curtly nodded at him, then took off her cloak. Beneath it she had on a tunic and breeches, as well as a leather belt from which hung a battle axe made of steel. 'If you don't mind could you tell us more about yourself?'

'There is nothing about me you must really know. I am a wanderer, and a mercenary when need be. I come from Rohan.' She paused a while. 'I do not think you need to know any more for the moment, except that it would be dangerous to cross me.'
