6:03 PM, and I've been working on the MoME awards design.

And, we've got snow.

It is 9:23am PST and I hope everyone has a great day!!! I am off to work very soon.

WOW!!! Shocked My neighbor just did something that shocks and surprises me in a very good way. The wind is blowing like crazy and it is garbage day. He just came home and took in his trash bins and then walked over and picked mine up that had blown over and brought it up and put it in the carport where it belongs. That was the nicest thing he could have done today!!! I am almost in tears that he would think of us and do that for us. How very kind and sweet!!

Your neighbor just has to be a Kansas kid.

Smile

Of course, anyone who knows what a super kid you are would prollie crawl on his hands and knees for miles to do something nice for you.

Wink [/major suck-up]

Although admittedly that would freak me out to see that done to me.

Oh man, I really do what to see that. Men Who Stare At Goats, right? It looks outrageous, the clips. Big Grin My brother is going to go tomorrow night to see it. Clooney is such a nut, and they you have Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. Gonna be a winner I predict. And what is NOT to love about Ewan? I could see the movie just to LOOK at him and drool. Big Grin

Okay, so you didn't need that. Whistling

You really ought to see a movie like "Goat Staring" in a theater, if it's one that you've decided is gonna be really good.

You will never have a chance to see it again like that if you don't.

"MST" looks so cool, like "MIST".

12:25 pm PST. And Scribbles, I rarely make it to the movie theaters. It REALLY has to be something to move this tookas from the couch on a weekend. But I just might do the matinee thingie on Saturday.

Rose, you have got to see the trailer. It looks to be very funny. Watch the full length trailer at the bottom of this website.

basilllllly, I agree, but I rarely do go hon. It is more the going by myself that stops me. Not that I have a problem doing it, I have a problem getting motivated to do it, when the couch is oh so comfy and warm at home. Wink

Angling for a date, huh?

Smile

The story behind "Staring at Goats" is true, in case there's anyone who wasn't aware of that fact.

Quote:

ESP Troopers

One of the strangest files reveals the use of psychics as spies. The CIA-financed project-code-named GRILLFLAME-was conducted at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), beginning in the early 1970s. The CIA says its ESP troopers, who used sensory deprivation (left), never produced useful information. Yet the project may still have been a success.

It turns out that for two decades Stanford University had also worked on a secret over-the-horizon radar (OHR) system to spot Soviet ICBMs seconds after launch.

The OHR system operated at the same microwave frequencies the Soviets believed were responsible for brain waves. For reasons he later said he never understood, OHR inventor Oswald G. Villard Jr. found himself assigned to GRILLFLAME.

Some speculate that the ESP troopers were a ruse to divert Soviet spies away from OHR.

And besides that, Clooney's movies usually do well.

Favorite Clooney movie? His Brother, Where art Thou?

1:30 pm PST.

LOL you rascal you. Nope not angling for anything actually, well maybe a Clobster or two. Razz

For funniest Clooney favorite, I will go with Oh Brother as well. I can watch that movie over and over again and still get a kick out of it and I love Krauss' Down In the River To Pray. We sing that occasionally here at work, the brother, my niece and I. With harmony. Wink

We will see if this has the same comedic edge that Brother has. It has the cast for it.

Rose, I haven't read the book, but a friend of mine has, and he said it was simply amazing. It's on my 'to-read' list. Of course, that list is growing ever longer...

Scribbles, the movie premiers tomorrow, so if you wait until it's on DVD, it might be a while.

rwhen, thanks for the link! I really want to go see it now. Perhaps tomorrow after my big midterm? We'll see.

It's 17:30, I'm at my usual spot of studying in the Forestry building except I usually go after hours. It's so busy now! I barely found a spot.

8:59 pm MST and Eru, I don't mind waiting for the movie to be released on DVD. It's not like it will have morphed into a different film if I don't see it in the theatres . . . Wink

basil darlin', I agree with you partly. I always try to see Sci-Fi or Fantasy films on the BIG SCREEN, simply to appreciate the scale. But for more ordinary films, our Big Screen TV does just fine for me. Wink

7am PST. Trying to get the brother out the door, he has an appointment in Beaverton, almost an hour away with traffic, at 8am. Rolling Eyes

It IS Friday!!! Very happy about that to be sure. Get through this eight hours and two days of sprawl. Razz Only real plans are to check the restaurant and home stuff. Laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning and cooking.

Vanadarlin', you have a tough schedule ahead of you with the inventory thing. Keep your strength up as best you can. Hug

Rowan, see you later then?

Scribbles, my brother has a huge TV screen and people are life sized on it, so to me that is very similar to seeing it on the theater screen too. I am getting a 47" sometime soon and in my little flat, it will seem giganticus!!

Eru, good luck on the mid term today!! And don't spend that $20 all in one place. Razz Big Grin

Igt is 10:33am PST and I am online for a bit before work.

I got paid today and found out that someone changed my time of starting on the preceding two Tuesdays so that I got shorted by an hour and a half. I am taking it up with the manager this afternoon when he comes in. I am not happy and can not figure out why anyone would do that to me.

10:35 am PST. Hey Vanadarlin'. Sorry that you got shorted on your paycheck, that really bites. I am sure they will make it up to you, but probably not until the next pay period. Is there a person that actually enters your time for you or do you clock in and out????

We clock in and out but the Managers can over ride it and change anyone's time if we want. WE can add or change someone's punch in or out if they forget to or it was incorrect but to change mine by 45 minutes two weeks in a row when I am the one who opens so it can not be disputed when I am there. I have the key to let everyone in and two others were clocked in at 8 am both days. Rolling Eyes

11:40 am PST. Yeah, that doesn't make any sense at all. Hopefully your can talk it through with the manager dude and get it all worked out. I have said to my brother many times, you can mess with me in a ton of ways, but one way is NOT my paycheck. THAT is why we work. He doesn't get it.

But honestly, why do people work? To get paid. HELLO!!

9:40 PM, and I'm home. The weather sucks, but dance class was fun, as usual. And, the weekend's ahead! Cool

12:45 pm PST. Rowan, I am glad that you got to and from dance class with no incidents. And now the weekend. You guys are still going to the musical tomorrow I assume? Hope your weather clears a bit for that.
