Nice writings! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

And a small request from me, to let the different writers include acharacter sheet in here from their muse, maybe? 't Would be so much easier to get to know a little about the different muses, whom I never RPed with before. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Muse is coming along great btw. I have to reread some chapters from TTT though, because PJ left me a little confused on what is according the books and what not in his movie at some points. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0>

Jae and Telta: Love to have you. How quick do you two want to join, and where would it be good for you to do so? Currently we're gonna be going through Minas Tirith, and if you want to join there, that's cool.

N-N: Just wanted to make it formal...I'll add people as they post<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> Great post, btw<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Kaya: That's a great idea with the characters. At the least, post a link to where ever a character description is located. And would you be interested in joining a bit later, during the journey through Rohan? Or in Minas Tirith, immediatly?

well Jaeniver lives (or is currently staying with Elrond to be more precise)in Rivendell so i guess there's no choice for me but to wait for your arrival and act surprised <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>but I'll read your posts with pleasure

Will a biography do? i read Kaya's character sheet and mine just isn't as good as hers <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif"border=0>, not as detailed lets keep it to that. i hope you'll accept a simple bio.

and then a question coming from me. will you divide certain roles? or will that place of each character reveal itself during the RP?

thanks again for having me, and please bare with my grammar and spelling mistakes, i dread it.

A biography should be fine. Hopefully we'll get to Rivendell soon...there will be a bit of action going on there too. I'm thinking that the roles of the characters will develop over time...there will be ample opprotunity if anyone decides to leave the RP (I hope not, but it happens) if they don't seem to fit...at this point, I still don't have any good roles defined...just the characters that Anorast comes across. We'll figure it out as we go<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

well here's biography, i hope it's enough to give you an idea about her.

Jaeniver Ëlindi history

Name:Jaeniver Ëlindi, princess of the Westlands and Westrealm Ydanish
Parents: king Thorandil and queen Eviloris
Brothers and sisters: in order of birth: brother Forian, sister Celian, sister Beléniel, Jaeniver, brother Byrion
Race: Nandor
Gender: female
Age:born in 2063 of the Third Age
Height: 6’2”
Status: single, she has never experienced true love and is therefore rather vulnerable
Occupation: Princess, loner, negociator, she stayes inside a lot to study in the library of Rivendell
Personality: a little bit naïve and shy but when someone crosses her lines she can stand up for herself and take that person down , very caring for others.
Appearance: fair as all elven, with dark brown eyes which sometimes seem gold. Dark hair, usually in one or more braids. She is dressed in traveller’s gear: green cloak, black trousers tucked away in leather boots but the colours can be different at times, all depending on the away mission. But on some occasions she is dressed in beautiful gowns. When she does not find it nessacery to wearing her travellers gear she will just wear a plain simple dress
Skills: she writes poems and sings and plays a little silver flute. She can handle herself (if necessary) with a bow and sword but she rather takes people down with words then with a weapon. She is a skilled negociator and will try to solve confrontations by making compromises and negociate
History: Princess Jaeniver Elindi is the daughter of king Thorandil and queen Eviloris. Born in Lothlorien and on a later date she and her mother went back to their kingdom which lay close to Rivendell. She was the fourth child and she was very close with her elder sister Beléniel. And they spent the most time together.

She had many happy years playing in the palace garden, without a care in the world but when the War of the ring started the years turned into dark everlasting night. *(see History of the WestElves)
People would run if she or one of her family members would cross their paths.
her family and people fled to avoid paybacks. Their new realm was called Ydanish and the palace Ydan-Galad. There a new life began though it was a miserable one for Jaeniver. her sister Beléniel had left Ydanish to return to Middle Earth as she could not leave her loved one behind. Jaeniver now roamed the chambers and garden of Ydan-galad alone without her closest sister to share her life with.

She missed Middle-Earth and Beléniel and found no pleasure in her own country. She was taught the ways of a princess but in her mind she developed a new plan for her life, she would return to Middle Earth and look for her sister so they could be rejoined again.
Her father found out about her plans and forbid her to be left alone for one minute so a guard was with her every minute of the day. Not letting her father stop her, Jae poisoned her guard so he would fall asleep and would not know what happened when he woke up.

And like this she left, on her way to find peace and retrieve the happiness she had felt as a child. she now roamed Middle Earth searching in all Elven realms for her lost sister but still with no luck. She was friendly welcomed in Rivendell and stayed there where she got reaccuintaned with Middle Earth and it’s way of life. Though her dark history is still haunting her. She spends most of her time in her room or in the library reading and gaining knowledge. She prefers to go outside in the evening when all is quiet and peaceful. She is therefor much of a loner.

On one of her travels to Mirkwood a rumour had caught her attention about a Westland Elf marrying an Elf from Lorien.
Jaeniver tried to come across Beléniel’s trail in the hope it was her sister of whom the rumours spoke but failed and returned to Rivendell to pick up her studies. She had thought about going back to Ydanish but could not face the shame she had brought upon her parents after she had left so she remaind alone in Middle Earth still hoping for a sign of her lost sister.

History of the Westland Elves
The Westland Elves are Telerin Elfs, Nandor. As the war for the Ring began the Elfs didn’t do anything to stop it for they did not know what was happening, what was disturbing the peace in Middle-Earth. When Sauron gained too much power he forced lord Thorandil to help him to destroy the Free People of Middle Earth. If he would not help the Dark Lord he’d destroy his own people and kin. So Thorandil had no other choice but to become a Sauron ally.
After Elrond and Isildur joined in battle and defeated Sauron, the Westland Elves were held responsible for a great deal of the misery the war had caused throughout the land so they fled, afraid because many sought revenge, from their original land which lay close to Rivendell and moved to the barren Westlands where they’ve now been for many years they also got another name, Dark Elfs. They remained unnoticed as years went by and many had forgotten about them. They became a myth just like the Ring itself.

i hope it's not too much fiction <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif"border=0>
and I'll be waiting in Rivendell then <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> seems like to most logical thing to do

Well, I think you know Nin, for most of you. But so it is sure.
If you're curious for more follow the link in my sig to Tear Maiden and I can only hope that it will not bore you to death!

Character biography: Nienor-Niniel

Name : Nienor-Niniel
Nickname : Nin
Age : varies according to RPs, born in 2992 Third Age
Race : Human
Gender : Female
Marital state : varies according to RP, travelling alone until year seven of the Forth Age, when she meets Anorast
Height : 1m65 (not the slightest idea in feet)
Weight : definitively not enough, though she loves to cook and to eat, especially chocolate, she is very skinny
Appearance : N-N is blond, with long, straight hair , she has a green-blue eyes. She doesn’t care a lot for her looks nowadays. Her hair is mostly attached in a ponytail and sometimes hidden under a helmet if she wants to be taken for a man.
Outfit : usually with dark-brown leather pants and shirt, leather boots and a large cape, with which she can almost make a small tent if necessary.
Weapons : owns a Rohirrim sword, that she is not afraid to use and a knife. She has a bow, but this is not her preferred weapon, for she is shortsighted. She wears a dagger that she never uses and avoids to touch but never puts down. After year seven F.A, she carries sometimes a Dwarven sickle, a magical weapon whose use is still enigmatic for her.
Horse : She was allowed to keep her horse when she left Rohan and she loves it dearly, even if the memory that is connected to it sometimes make her almost curse it. It’s name is Gedeon.
Skills : N-N is very quick, she runs and moves very swiftly and without being tired. Once she was a great singer in Elrond’s house (see bio), but her singing voice is now lost forever. She has a beautiful silver flute, that replaces her voice and she can almost stun people who listen to her play. She is a good cook. N-N prefers to listen than to talk and does not willingly reveal her past or her plans. She doesn’t like to lead but is a good follower and never gives in if she has promised to follow a quest. She speaks elvish (quenya), Rohirrim, but is not always sure of her Westron. (translate : I’m not a native speaker of English)
Biography :
When only a baby of a few weeks, N-N was found on the steps of Rivendell. She wore nothing permitting to identify her and was in bad shape: a skinny little thing with some bruised bones and a peculiar scar, all along her left arm, almost like a snake. The left hand had six fingers, the sixth has been cut when she was six years old. Elrond could heal the baby and agreed to keep her in his house, after all other humans had been fostered at Rivendell, though of nobler lineage. The elves named her Nienor-Niniel after the story of Turin-Turambar, because like in this song, she didn’t know where she was coming from and too seemed to be a child of tears. She lived a happy childhood in Rivendell, but never felt really home there. Nobody was her exclusive parent, she was a little bit everybody’s and nobody’s child. Elrond’s attitude towards humans had changed since he knew that Arwen would give up her immortality for Aragorn.
N-N had a beautiful voice and became a fully trained singer in Elrond’s house. When aged eighteen, she fell almost madly in love with one of the elves of Rivendell, named Liudares. She was then a requested singer and very beautiful. But it was obvious that Elrond would not tolerate another union of elves and men in his house, thinking that they brought to much suffering upon the world. So she became Liudares lover in secret. When she understood that he would never give up his immortality for her and that, one day, he would leave for the West and the undying shores of Valinor, she decided that if he would not share immortality with her, that she would share mortality with him. She couldn’t bear the idea that she would spend the rest of her life without him, or that he should have any happiness without her.
In the grey morning after their last love night, she pulled out a dagger and cut both of their throats in a swift movement. Liudares yell for help brought a lot of people along, so N-N could be saved, but for him all help came to late. And she lost the child she was bearing without knowing it. Her singing voice was lost forever.
When she could get up again, she was banned from Rivendell, because even if the Elves know that it is a seeming death, the slaying of an elf is a hideous crime followed by severe punishment. She was then full of anger towards the elves and sixteen years old.
For the next five years N-N wandered in the wild, alone most of the time. She fought against almost all evil creatures you can meet in ME, for in the depth of her heart she was looking for forgiveness. She was lacking the beauty of the elvish songs and learned all alone to play the flute. As she had seen only very little humans during her years in Rivendell, she was afraid of them. But still she wanted to believe in men rather than in elves. She quickly learned to hide herself quickly and to follow a group of warriors without being seen. She can move almost as silently and swiftly as an elf.
These years of wandering have hardened her mind and filled her with regret, but her anger and her restlessness were as vivid as ever. Though she was always looking for a key to the mystery of her origins, she never found someone who knew anything about her scar or a six-fingered baby.
When she arrived in Rohan after five years of errant, she was sick and weary. She stopped in a Rohirrim village and stayed there. After a fierce fight against orcs, the other villagers adopted her, and she married to one of the Riders of the Mark, named Théadon. Together they had a child, a son (Haleth), whose name she does not speak out loud. For a long time, she rememberd those three years in Rohan as moments of bliss. But she was tormented by remorse and by the memory of the child she had killed before it was born. So she decided to open her heart to her husband, hoping and trusting his love for her. However, when she told him about her youth and her crime, he realized that he couldn’t live with her anymore. He first would allow her to stay for the child’s sake, but if she couldn’t live with Théadon, she didn’t want to stay in the village. She had understood that finally she loved her husband more than she had loved her elvish lover, though it was in a quiet way and not with the mad despair of her youth. So she left her son with his aunt, Eolynd.
So she parted once more, cast away. But she was not as hopeless and angry as she had been eight years ago. She was then out in the wild for two more years, fighting with the wild men against the orcs of Isengard. It seemed to her that she should be home nowhere, and that from the day she was born, nobody ever wanted to keep her.
In year one of the F.A. she met with SilverScribe and travelled for a while with her group. At the crossing of Rohan, she heard for the first time that Théadon had not returned from the War. After her voyage with the company, NN decided to look for him and took the road through all MiddleEarth. Though she never had got any news, she accepted after a while that he would never come back and has fallen in the War.
A few visits in Rohan showed her that her child was growing up happily and she stayed on the road, becoming a bard, playing flute in various places. The feeling of guilt was still her main motivation for anything she did.
When she heard for the first time of the Mithril Knights, she did not even dare to hope to join them, but Lord Elbren took her in training. This is where she met Anorast, falling deeply in love with the elf. However, she is still doubtful if her love for an elf will not be her doom once again.

Hmmm it doesn't really matter where Telta meets up with you. She could start off right there in Minas Tirith as you are travelling through. But if you would rather she could meet up along the way if it would work better into the story.

As for her bio well...

Name: Teltasarewen but better known as Telta

Gender: Female

Age: Stopped keeping track for it serves no purpose but to remind one of things long past

Race: Silvan Elf

Appearance: Telta stands a little over 6’ and has sky blue eyes and blonde hair reaching to her waist. Usually found garbed in pants, knee high boots and tunic over a blouse.

Occupation: For a very long time a thief (picking pockets her speciality) but has since then given it up and was hired as a waitress at the Lucky Fortune Inn and is a Bard.

Weapons: 2 daggers which she is highly skilled with and deadly when needs be.

Thief...it was a name Telta had learned to live with. She was not proud of it but it was the occupation that she had immersed herself in. A dangerous life though it mattered not. Ever since the death of her twin brother she had wandered aimlessly living from day to day distancing herself from everyone never getting involved with or letting anyone get close to her.

She and Thalirhos, her older brother by a small margin, had been very close. They trained together learning sword skills and archery. Both were often found practicing and testing each other, pushing themselves and each other to their limits. It was one such occasion that had set her on her dangerous path.

Practicing archery skills as they were wont to do, selecting targets for each other Thalirhos held up an apple, something he loved to eat, betting her that she could not hit it. Confident that she could she agreed. She did not know that he had meant to hold it while she tried to hit it. Small doubts had her trying to get out of it but he only dismissed her protests challenging her to try and outshoot him. And determined to do just that her pride winning out over her sense she took the shot.

But it was not apple flesh that the arrow struck. Thalirhos had been struck and when he cried out it crushed her. There was nothing she could do the wound was fatal. She held him close even after he had passed away. Her clothes were soaked with his blood and so too was her hair that had laid in his blood upon the ground. In a fit of uncontrolled grief and anger at what she had done Telta cut her hair off short and left Mirkwood never to look back.

Grief, loneliness and despair encompassed her like a cloak as she wandered empty and uncaring. In this frame of mind she delved into the role of a thief finding that the dangers involved were the only thing that made her feel anything at all. That was until she came to the Lucky Fortune. A new life began for her then when a kind and generous offer from Erinhue, the co-owner of the Lucky Fortune helped her to give up her former life. No one before had reached her, no one cared until then and it touched something inside her that she thought long dead. She ceased being a thief and is trying to learn to live with others and making a few friends as she goes along.

~Telta~

Leslie does not remember much of anything of her past. All she does remember is her flawless skills and abilities as well as her first name and the fact that she is an Elf.

Leslie woke up with almost no memory of her past. She awoke in an ally in Bree, and was found wondering the streets in Beggars clothing by a very powerful Wizard named Pomporo, who claimed to have sensed her abilities in 'Magical powers'. Pomporo verified that Leslie was in fact an Elf. Pomporo gave Leslie these Items: A Magical sword, A black outfit (which she wears even now), some Magical Herbs and special powders to protect her, as well as 50 gold pieces. With these Items Pomporo sent Leslie out to begin her quest to rediscover who she was. She went to Rivendell and sought the help of Lord Elrond. For the next five years he tried to help until she then sought the help of Lady Galadriel in Lorien, spending three years there. Then just as the Fellowship of the Ring left Rivendell Leslie returned. She by now had become close friends of Lord Elrond and his daughter Arwen, but did not like Elrond's trying to seperate two loves namely Arwen's and Aragorn's love. Upon her return Arwen told her of her heart break and pain and what Aragorn had said to her. Leslie however talked her down, telling her that Aragorn would not just say these things unless he thought himself to be doing the right thing. Having a very vague description of Aragorn and a few short glances at him, Leslie set forth to extract the truth from Lord Aragorn. She left Rivendell asking for Arwen to remain until she could prove his claims of his wanting her to leave to be false. She stopped back in Lorien for a short time and discovered the Fellowship to have gone through there. Following the trail of the fellowship, Leslie found herself in the plains of Rohan. Her mission taking a sudden unexpected twist.

She instead ended up fighting to save refugees out of villages in Rohan. Saving one young red haired Declynn from certain doom. She ended up protecting a small group of refugees all the way to Helm’s Deep. There she fought to protect the people of Rohan, and refused to hide in some room with women and children. Later on Leslie left Declynn in the care of an old Rohan woman and went to fight in the war. She fought along side Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf the Wizard in the Great battle against the Orcs. Unfortunately Leslie did not realize who she was standing next to at the time (She was standing next to Aragorn), she was even remembered for saying to Aragorn just before the battle broke out: "Well if we die, we'll know that there was too many to fight!!!" of course no one found her sense of humor funny at the time except Aragorn and Gimli. Later on she found Arwen reunited with Aragorn, and left it at that. She continued on hearing about an Wizard’s Guild opening after the fall of Saruman. So her journey led her in the direction of the Wizard’s guild. Unfortunately she would have to make the trek on foot the horse Pomporo gave her died in the war.

Later, Leslie found Angel in the woods, Angel’s leg had been badly injured at the time. And Angel was extremely wild, afraid of any person getting near her, Angel almost killed Leslie a few times. But Leslie continued to try and help the wild horse. When Angel was well enough Leslie was about to leave and Angel would not stop following her. Later, Leslie said that the horse looked kind of like an Angel because of how beautiful she was one night when the moon shinned on her causing Angel to glow a type of silver tint. Thus, that is how the beautiful white horse got her name.

After a couple distractions and diversions away from her intended course Leslie decided not to head for the Wizard’s Guild instead she ended up wandering Middle Earth. But in her stops in Rivendell and Lorien Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel urged her to see the Wizard’s Guild about her memory loss. After much encouraging, Leslie made her way to the Wizard’s Guild Hall, but instead of asking for help in her memory loss, Leslie joined the wizard’s Guild to study more on her abilities there. There she seeks only to know of her ability in Magic and has never once mentioned her memory loss around the Wizard's Guild. She visits there often, but she rarely delves into her ‘supposed’ abilities in magic, for to use magic is very hazardous to Leslie. She can get any number of problems from delving into the arts. Severe headaches, passing out, Nose bleeds, temporary blindness, or temporary loss of voice. Even though she is supposedly very powerful in magic it hurts her greatly to use it, for it is somehow connected to her memory loss. She has recently become a Staff Bearer. Lately Leslie wanders the lands, in her journeys she has grown fond of traveling and wandering the lands.

Sometimes Leslie remembers fragments of her past in either dreams or in flash backs, this is why she has irregular sleeping habits. But when she wakes the memory of the dreams elude her grasp. To this day, Leslie helps any and all she comes across as she either travels or more likely wanders. Leslie still searches for her past at times, but over time she has become less and less concerned with her past and has become attached to Declynn, Drake, and Pomporo. She desires to be counted amongst the race of men and to be a mortal. What many fail to realize is she did not wake in an ally in Rivendell, Lorien, or Mirkwood. She in a way was born and raised in Bree, and therefore feels she doesn't belong amongst the elven people nor does she wish to.

Nowadays Leslie is a very close friend of Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel. They are the ones who try to help her remember through exercises and such. Both Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel have grown quit fond of Leslie and care for her greatly. But even still Leslie is asked to go on the most dangerous missions for the lands of Rivendell, Lorien, and Mirkwood. She is highly thought of and renowned but not much, only the elves of Rivendell, Lorien, and Mirkwood know of her, and consider her a renowned hero. Since no one knows where she came from (least of all herself) many have taken to calling her The Elf of Bree (Since she awoke in an ally in Bree, and that’s the first thing she remembered).

After Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel left she came to work on missions Celeborn sent her on as she still remained close and only became closer to him when she came around even more, at some points she does wonder and regrett her decision to remain in Middle Earth. She holds a secret love for a mortal man she dares not speak of, and her worries of rejection and shyness hold her back from opening up to the man she loves. But it was for him and for Declynn, Drake, and Pomporo that she remains, and when she begins to regrett or wonder about her decision she merely pushes it aside thinking she would regrett and wondering about her friends and loved ones here if she had sailed to the Undying lands. So the thoughts are quickly removed when she thinks on them.

Family/Friends:
Declynn: Leslie’s best friend, whom is like a sister to her. But in Drake's absence Leslie is also Guardian to Declynn.
Pomporo: A heavy set Wizard who found Leslie wandering the streets of Bree. He is like a father to her.
Drake: Declynn’s mentor and guardian, who trained Declynn to be one of the best rangers and trackers. He is not around Declynn much anymore though.
Lord Elrond: A close friend, whom looks for a way to restore Leslie’s memory lose. He also is like a guardian/father figure to Leslie.
Lady Galadriel: She is like a mother type figure to Leslie and also looks for a way to restore Leslie’s memory lose.

************************
Important!: For a more descriptive background on Leslie please read The Elf of Bree- Leslie's Story!

EDITED:

HeeHeeHee! Well, I'd love to join as well, but I think I'm gonna have to hold out for a while. Though it's possible for me to start my character in right now (she lives in Minas Tirith), I have final exams next week and simply don't have the time to do much writing. Besides, I am leaving next Sunday (the 15th, I think it is) to go on vacation and will be away for two weeks.

So I think I'll just find a way to get my character out of Minas Tirith and onto the road to meet/run into/join up with the rest when I get back from vacation. Though I think I could manage to get a post or two in this week, I'll just be gone too long to really make it worth it, I think.

The story's coming along wonderfully, by the way. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I'm definitely liking this guy already, I got to say. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

*~*~*~*~*

Bréhon – Character Sheet

Name: Bréhon
Race: Men
Culture: Rohirrim

Born in a small settlement in the Eastfold, the Riddermark, in the year 3003 of the third Age (I should be around 25 during this storyline).
Son of Brogan and Fréyawin
Elder brother to Bréwynë

Gender: male
Hair: flaxen-pale, reaching my shoulders
Eyes: grey-blue
Skin: paler than the one of most Men, as our origins lay in the far north (the orcs called us Whiteskins for that reason)
Height: 1,83m (that should be around 7,2 inches) so yes, I’m one of those tall horse guys. * rolls eyes *

Languages: Rohirric and Westron
Skills: I’m a warrior gifted with a quick swordplay (and to the remorse of some, also the gift of the gab, but that was more during my youth); I learned the basics of my fighting skills on the streets; my horseriding is excellent (well… of course <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> ); I’m never scared to get involved in a scuffle;

Clothes:
Standard outfit of the Riders when on duty, with a helmet with a white horsetail that almost reaches my shoulders when I wear it;
When I’m off duty I mostly wear dark brown leather riding pants, and a worn shirt or a sleevless vest in the same color and material as my pants are.
Weapons: sword (Ghúthéo), spear, dagger, and whatever weapon I can get my hands on when in danger
Horse: a black Rohirrim horse named Éowind

Occupation at this time: Captain of an Éored of the Second Marshall (the Guards of the Gap)

Bio:

There is one land in Middle-Earth where my heart always has been, and always will be. ‘Rohan’ it is called by the Gondorians, our neighbours in the south. We call it the Mark, the Riddermark. And home.
The wide green lands –formerly known as the Gondorian province of Calenardhon- is where I was born and grew up.

The early years

During my childhood I lived a rather tranquil life under the carrying eyes of my mother and the protection of my father, who was one of the Riders of the Mark. He died when I was 12, and I didn’t dare to cry. I was the man in the house now, so I also thought I had to act tough. I looked after my mother and 2-year old sister with the greatest care though.

I inherited my father’s sword, Ghúthéo, and I trained to become a soldier with the aid of a neighbour who had been a great swordfighter in his younger day, for I wanted to step in my father’s footsteps one day and revenge his death.

It was during my teens I felt a tension that hung in the air, and not only because my father had been slain by forces I had never met myself. It was a tension that told us times were soon gonna change for the Riders patrolled more often and in larger numbers than ever before.

When Orcs –and even fouler creatures- started to use our land as a passage, we moved to Edoras for the more deserted environment where we lived in the Eastfold was no longer safe according to the elders of our village.

I was 16 by then, and when it became clear to me that war would be inevitable, I wanted to become a Rider myself and defend the country I loved so dearly.
And so it happened.
My mother and sister staid inside the safe walls of Edoras while I got enrolled in the Éored of the Third Marshall of the Mark, King Théoden’s nephew, Éomer.
I was granted a horse that was as black as ashes. A rarity these days for the Orcs had been stealing our horses for some time already, and they only were interested in the black ones. The horse was named Éowind.

The War of the Ring

The news of the death of Théodred, son of King Théoden, during the First battle of the Fords of Isen brought a great grief to us all. Whispers about strange forces present in the King’s house reached my ears when I heard some of my fellow Riders talk, and I knew they were talking about that strange councellor of our King.
I wondered who was gonna come to our aid, if there would ever stand up such a person in the first place.

It was days after Éomer had taken off with his Riders again, without the permission of the King, that we met three strangers in the plains of the Mark. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Although the company of three existed also of an elf and a dwarf –both creatures I had never seen before- it was the man named Aragorn that impressed me the most. When the man spoke up his true name, and showed us the sword that had been broken long ago but now looked like it never had even been scratched, I knew what legacy he carried with him. We gave the strange company the horses of two of our slain men, so they could go looking for the Halflings they seemed to care so deeply about.

At our return in Edoras, Éomer got mingled in a discussion with Wormtongue and for that reason, and the fact he had disobeyed the orders of the King to not leave Edoras in these times of threat and uncertainty, Wormtongue ordered to throw Éomer into jail. My first reaction was to come to the aid of my Marshall so I stepped forward and spoke up. Éomer told me to let it go, but in my youthful fearlessness I unsheathed my sword anyway and readied it. And so I got imprisoned as well.

It was the next morning when the door next to my cell got opened again, and I heard Háma’s voice speaking to Éomer, explaining him quickly what had happened. Gandalf had arrived in a company of 3, the situation had changed and it had been the order of the King to set his nephew free again.
“And what about my rash soldier?” I heard Éomer ask.
Háma said my faith had not been discussed, but Éomer ordered him to open my cell door even so. Éomer wanted his sword back and even though Háma objected first, he then brought back Éomer’s sword and also carried mine. But Éomer told him to put mine back, and I was told to return to the house of my family until the Riders would ride again.

A few hours later my family and I were informed that I was called back to leave for the west with the Riders, and that my mother and sister would stay with the rest of the women and children under Éowyn’s leadership.

Éomer came to me when I arrived at the gathering place with my horse, armed although only carrying my spear and dagger for a weapon, and with an empty scabbard attached to my belt.
“I know what you think,” he spoke after he had beckoned me aside. “That it was very unfair of me to deny you your sword for disobeying me while I got imprisoned myself for not listening to the King’s word”
I must have looked at him with eyes that didn’t hide my annoyance, but he continued on the same unctuous tone though the message was very clear and stern. “Let this be a lesson to you, young Bréhon. There are things in life that are worth getting in trouble for. And there are decisions that are just plain rash” He then gave me back my sword. “Think next time, before you act. It could have turned out bad for you, for Wormtongue’s power was great. But now that power has been broken.”
For a moment there was silence between us before Éomer addressed me again. “I heard the King say something about me earlier; that a faithful heart may have a forward tongue. And the same can be said about you and your actions sometimes. But now let us put that behind us.” He gave me a pat on the back. “Cheer up lad. And prepare for battle. We are going to the Fords of Isen and your quickness with a sword is still of high value to me.”

So we left Edoras soon after, and headed for the Ford of Isen to stand up against the threat of Orthanc.
But during our travel we had to change our bearings after news of attacks from enemy forces and flees of our men in the field to Helm’s deep and other places.
And so we set forth to the south, to Helm’s deep, after Gandalf had left our midst without an explanation.

The attack of an enormous number Orks began during the night after our arrival at Helm’s deep. I still can feel the adrenaline flowing through my veins. And I can still feel my knees tremble those last minutes before battle begun. And the battle was long, and hard. And it wore us all out. We awaited the break of dawn knowing dawn would not be of any help, as the sun had no effect on these foul creatures.

But even though, dawn changed our state as Gandalf returned with a part of our dispersed army, and Ents also came to our aid. Elves, dwarves, halflings, … ents? I had the feeling I was living in one of the bedtime stories my father used to tell me on those long winter evenings, back when I was little.
Later that same day, I was sent out with a few others who also weren’t wounded and had a fast horse. Our mission was to bring news about our victory to all parts of the Mark, and to inform all men, both young and old, to come with us. For we had only won one battle, but the war was not over yet.

When the King rode to the aid of Minas Tirith to keep to the Oath of Eorl, the Riders went with him.
I met our companies again when they were heading for the southern borders of Rohan, and went with them to Minas Tirith, where it seemed that darkness had come to never go away again.

We fought at the Pelennor Fields. At one point I almost got slain by an Orc but an elf lady saved my life. I never saw her again afterwards, so I didn’t got the chance to thank her or ask for her name. But I would recognize her anytime as her eyes were bright and had the strangest green color, reminding me of the green plains of my homeland in some way.

Our King was not so lucky though, as he met his end during the defence of Minas Tirith. It was a horror to see the carcase of the fell beast, and the body of our dying King. And so it was that Éomer became the King of the Rohirrim.

Soon after that, the battle in front of the black gate took place. The Dark Lord Sauron was defeated, and finally peace could return to our lands.

But not all that was evil had been defeated with Sauron, so it seemed.

Back in the Mark

After we had escorted Théoden’s remains to Edoras I went looking for my family who had fled to the mountains. At arrival I found most of the temporary settlement in ashes while the people lay wounded or dead on the ground. My mother was one of the latter. There was no trace of my little sister though, and none of the survivors could answer my begging pleas to tell me what had become of her, for they had no idea as it all had happened so fast.

Sadness and hatred for the evil creatures that had done this filled my whole being. I blamed myself for what had happened. I had chosen to fight for my country and its neighbours and had failed in protecting my own family. And there was nothing I could do to change anything about that.

I helped to bury the dead so also my mother, and searched the surroundings for days in the hope to find my sister. But I did not find any sign of her. So with a weary heart I returned to Edoras at last.

When I arrived there I was asked what had taken me so long. I just gave them the straight facts and was able to hide my grief well. But when I was alone in my room I cried myself to sleep several times.

One day, a few months later, I received a message with the royal seal of the Mark, telling me that I had to come to Meduseld ‘at once’. Wondering what I had done now, I went over there as quick as my feet could carry me. Great was my surprise when I found the comrades of my Éored had planned a birthday party for me, it hadn’t dawned on me until then that it indeed was my 17th birthday.
I remembered the thought I had had while burying my mother, that there was no one left who’d remember my birthday, that there was no one left I could turn to. Guess I was wrong, and it was good to be wrong in that case. It was the first time I wasn’t ashamed to wipe a tear in public. The Riders were the closest to a family that I had, I then realized, and it was enough to keep me going, although I kept living like seeking death, having no hope, for most of the times.

The first 3 years after the war I stayed in Edoras for returning to my hometown didn’t appeal to me for it no longer was a home to me. I kept being a part of the Riders and I did my job with the same feeling of honor as before.

I trust not what is strange to me. I’m scared to care too much for anyone, because all I have cared for in the past had parted from me.

Two years later I became a captain under Erkenbrand, Marshall of the Westmark. Since then I am the captain of the Éored that guards the Gap of Rohan.

For evil still stirs in the lands of Middle-Earth occasionally. And my homeland still needs to be protected from any harm...

Ok, so I've got you all on the list. Now, to plotting...I'm still waiting to see if anyone else will be coming on, but I'm pretty close to getting ready to move the story out of Minas Tirith. Eyriel, I don't think we'll be moving fast, so we'll still be pretty close to Minas Tirith when you get back. If we aren't I'm sure we'll figure something out, such as your character was taking a vacation in Arnor...Does anyone else want to join the group in Minas Tirith? Or are most of you planning on joining once we reach Rivendell?

Abelé im'Nauren

Born to a Silvan elf (Adaire) and an Easterling (Bahjen), Abele’s birth was neither highly celebrated nor even anticipated. Adaire, looking for her brother who was lost in the East, was captured by the Easterlings. Captured and tormented, for they believed her to be a spy, she in turn captured the heart of one of the young guards--Bahjen. He made sure her quarters were comfortable and in time, she grew to care for him as well. One night they consummated their forbidden love and from that union was Abele. Soon after, the young man was transferred to another station and he never saw his love again. Slowly she withered, her secret child taking what little of her strength remained, for she was one of the weaker elves and prone to emotional bouts that left her exhausted. Without the man she loved to lean upon, she died, but not before giving birth to a daughter who fought from the moment she breached the womb.

Christened Abelé im'Nauren* by the wet nurse, she was raised not as an elf, but as an Easterling. Abele was sent off to the home of Bahjen's best friend and comrade-in-arms, never to be told of her elvish heritage, raised as a pure Easterling. However, with the etched cheekbones and slightly pointed tips on her ears, she knew that something was wrong. She trained to become an assassin, beautiful and deadly, disarming the men with her seeming innocence.

At a young age she was sent to Dramul, the King of the Easterlings, to train with his best men and there he fell madly in love, but she was not to be convinced, with the thought of her father always intercepting any ideas of love. After her training, Dramul chose her for his harem (for her family was unknown and could not be married), but she would not have it—fate had not led her to train as a man and then become a possession. Forcing past the guards, overpowering each one, for she knew their methods of battle, she escaped—a convict in Dramul and the Sultan's eyes.

Within time, she grew impatient, desperate to learn of her mother and father. Her mother, she was told, died in childbirth and with this she was content, for there was no interest in the background of the dead. However, her father, as far as the others knew, still lived. Her search, now funded by murders-by-hire, takes her into the western lands, but as of yet, there have been no clues of his existence. She knows only that he has the same eyes that haunt those who peer into hers.

Age: 24
Eyes: Yellow-green
Hair: Long, Light Brown with reddish highlights
Build: thin, but well-toned
Other physical: ears only have the slightest hint of pointiness, scar from sixth finger (secret for now), long unusual scar winding around forearm like a snake
Clothing: tanned hide, clothing that blends in with the environment, cape
Transportation: horse, Naorlin
Weapons: Axe—Jouda, small dagger, sword--Khalinkesh
Instrument: Windpipes (small)--Onirah
Job: assassin for hire
Personality: Uses a facade of innocence and sweetness to lull her victims into a false sense of security. More of a mannish nature—love is second to finding her father and doing her job along the way.

* Born of Strength
I'm interested in participating. I think I'd like to develop a new character for this. I've got a couple I've been working on in my mind. One is a dwarf named Taaf, who could join the company in Minas Tirith - he could be one of the workers from Osgiliath. The other character I might want to include is Antheod, an man origially from Rohan, but exiled since the War. He is a bowyer (crafts bows and arrows), so at some point someone could need to buy a new bow and encounter him. He could be located most anywhere, but not in Minas Tirith or Rohan.

How long after the war of the Ring is this set? Is it at least a few years?

You have a really intriguing beginning here, and I look forward to participating. Hopefully the pace will not be too fast, because my computer time is limited.

It'd be great to have you Elana! The pace will definitely not be too fast, it'll probably be rather medium (Not slow...I'm far too interested for this to turn into a snail). As to the timing, it's set about 8 years after the war of the ring. And I'd say go with the bowmen character...seems to have more potential for a significant member of the group than a dwarf.

Elana - yes a bowman! There must be someone to feel less lost among all those elfs <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>Another human...

eyriel , just an idea, but if you can drop in a post this week - eh not have a short conversation before we leave and take the charge to bring us news from Minas Tirith when there will be some later on the road... So you can come back whenever you want to. I KNOW this is not my RP, it is just an idea.

Lurea, I'm drowned by work and errors in the house building, but hopefully we can have a little plotting session too. Looking forward to the incident <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>. Let's find a moment when we're both on yahoo!

Kaya, great work!!!!!!

Edited for French spelling...........
Nin, I like that idea. It would kinda fit with my character as well - she's a former spy (even if she won't be collecting info in secret, but hey...<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0>).

I've got a character bio in the works right now; depending on how much time I have and if it's okay with Guru, I'll try to squeeze a post in before Sunday.

Nin--So sorry to hear about the house problems <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> Yes, I can't wait to have a session with you <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> Unfortunately, I work all the time...but I can always answer email at work. So if you get an idea, feel free to send it <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Jae, thanks for the encouragements during 'the creation' <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Thanks Nin! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Guru, I'm still not sure whether I'd stick to some sort of 'guest appearance' or a longer contribution. (I'm just not sure I'll have enough imagination to keep me going for a long time <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>)
Is it okay though, that I make a post to introduce my character and what he's been doing (not to post right away, but maybe when the group has crossed the Mark's borders)?
Do you have any idea if you'd go to Edoras once you're in the Mark? I was thinking of maybe manoeuvring my character to Edoras (everyone deserves a leave), and he and his Éored might be appointed as an escort to accompagny the group (because there are maybe some disturbances in the area heading the gap) until they reach the western borders of the Mark (if I should just stick to guestappearance)???
These are just ideas though. You let me know what you think? <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

you're welcome Kaya, and you're thinking to stick with guestappearing <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> sorry to hear that, knowing the plotting time will come to an end. but if you need someone to keep you and Bré going just ask me and i'll come to your aid <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Guru, Kaya and i were talking about the reason why the characters would join and i can't think of any for mine. Jaeniver isn't really a warrior she's more of a negociator, but is a negociater any help on a dangerous journey? , do you have ideas for what she could be useful? if you do please let me know so i can brainstorm about my first post
*hugs*

Actually, your character will be perfect. Anorast will be looking not only for warrior types, but also others. He doesn't know what to expect, so he'll be getting all types, and your character is definitely one he'll want for stuff in the east.
