Hey!

In a nutshell, my RP is about a young woman (actually a half-elf that chose to be Mortal rather than Elven), who wakes up with complete amnesia. She doesn't know where she is, how she got there, or how to get help - she doesn't even know her own name, never mind what she is.

This RP is about her quest to find out what her momory has deliberately blocked from her, and to reclaim what is rightfully hers. I haven't quite decided what 'the truth' will be yet, but you can guarantee that it'll lead to a quest of revenge or the like.

This is her Bio, which I won't reveal in the RP until the time is 'right' <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0>

Name: Raewan Hadlin

Race: Half-Elf, who chose to be Mortal rather than to join Elvenkind.

Age: 27

Occupation: Nomad, general wanderer - hires herself out as an armed escort or mercenary when hear people of cities.

Height: 5'9"

Build: Slender, agile

Hair: Black, loose ringlets

Eyes: Grey

Weapons: Currently none, but has quick reflexes and will later on find she is more than capable when it comes to daggers or throwing blades.

Bio: I am not going to reveal her bio here for a while, sinply because I haven't decided on much of it yet!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

If you would lke to join, please post your Bio here and go on to post - it will be fine by me, but I'll need you to read the basic storyline first, etc. to get a good idea of what's going on. There will be quick updates, to save you from having to read through the whole thread <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>.

Happy posting! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Sounds good, but what period of time is this in Middle Earth? Well, I guess I'll figure a character out later tonight and maybe even post if I have time.

Apologies - I forgot to say that. This RP takes place twenty years before the fellowship is formed. The 'shadow in the east' has returned, and Orcs - and darker beings still - are roaming the wilds. I thought this time period because the Elves are (some, anyway) still in middle-earth, having not yet left for the grey havens.

Anything else you need?

Yay.

Alright. If you want a good guy here is my char:

Name: Quellerinion (Quell for short)
Sex: male
age:20
marital status: single
appearance: Brown hair shoulder height. Brown eyes, small nose (But not too small) and black clothing. If you've played
Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, he looks like 'Bakuryu the mole' in his second outfit. (Stupid. I know. But Hey....)
Personality: Not very kind. But people like him if they understand him.
Short Bio: His mother and father were killed in a fire made by Quells 'best friend'. Quell managed to escape in time to see his friend fly away on a dragon laughing. His friends name was Tenalion. Quell pulled out his crossbow and shot Tenalions dragon. The dragon thrashed around, flinging Tenalion off its back. Tenalions mother was a witch. She put a curse on Quell, making sure he could not make friends again (She did not know what her son did). When she found out, she began to make a counter-curse, but was killed mid-way by her 'dead' son. Because she managed to lift some of the curse, Quell is only able to make certain friends. Chosen as soon as the sorceress died.

If you want me to be bad, I'll be Tenalion, and he burned down the house of some other person (Maybe Raewen?):

Name: Tenalion
Age: 20
Sex: Male
Appearance: much like Quell. Only with shorter, spiky blonde and brown hair.
Personality: Back-stabber, Deceiting, liar. makes friends easily. And Girlfriends. He betrays them once he gets the most out of them.
Bio: Read Quells.

Hey Lanu! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

As promised one bio, will post later on tonight.

Angharad’s profile:

Name: Angharad Kang

Nicknames: AK

Gender: Female

Race:[ Part Vampire/ Part Human

Age: 23 (human years)

Appearance: 5’2” Vampire’s teeth, pitch-black longish – just past her shoulders – hair, pale (white) skin, grey – almost albino – eyes, a scar down the right side of her face carrying on down her neck and stopping on her right shoulder.

Clothing: Black trousers, knee high boots with vast amounts of buckles and a lace going up them, comfortable black top and a long cloak.

Weapons: a long sword that is slung over her back, a small silver knife down her right boot, throwing knives attached to her belt as well as more knives – one up each sleeve and one on each thigh.

Personality: fiery and determined, she cannot always be the nicest person around for when she is annoyed she can become dangerous and will be violent. She has three features of a human – emotions, conscience and the fact that she can go out in the daytime – the rest are vampire characteristics – the teeth, hair, strength, skin, wit, quick thinking, instincts and the such (but not the thirst)

Strengths: Her strength and powerful will, she is a natural leader and can keep her emotions under control and hidden.

Weaknesses: She won’t always listen to other people and if she does and she’s in a bad or disagreeable mood she’ll discard the information and opinion even if the other person is correct. She thinks everyone is out to get her because of what she is and she hates what she is with an intense fury.

History: Her father (Zahar) was a vampire who raped her mother (Shannon), it was as always at that time of year all the senior male vampires used to go out on one night and rape as many women as possible. Then when the babies had been born they used to go back and see how much vampire they had in them, because of what they did the vampires were looking for children with emotions and a conscience. Those feelings would only stop them from being what they should be, any babies with them were killed and most of the fathers mutilated them beyond recognition, as they didn’t want anyone finding out that they were the father.

Thus Angharad was conceived and was born, her father, who happens to be in a very senior position, came back when she was just a baby. Searching her he found the two worst human characteristics. She would have to die. Mutilation was the only way she couldn’t disgrace his name, drawing his poisoned sword, they don’t always use their fangs. This is how she got her the scar down her face; Angharad woke up and screamed her pain. Her mother came running and burst into the room as the morning sun started to come up. Her father normally so perfect on his timing was off today, seriously off which indefinitely saved her life. The reason for this was a war between two different sects of the vampires, he was tired but he had to find out how this child was because he was tired it took him longer to do everything so he was caught out.

No one missed the vampire leave the building at an extremely rapid pace and they all knew. Angharad was destined to die, as was her mother, they would be an offering to their God, to appease him. But Angharad was taken right off the sacrificial pyre, she never knew who by but all she knew was that person ‘cared’ for her she never saw them, she was never allowed. All she remembered was a skeletal mask, a real human skull, and the thought still makes her shudder. When she was able to fend for herself she ran away and has been living and working on her own ever since with a quest to find and kill her father to avenge her mothers death. But either side humans or vampires have never accepted her and she is stuck in the middle with no one to turn to.

I hope you don’t mind her being half vampire, but it ties into her lack of self-confidence and explains the reasons why she acts certain ways. If you want I’m sure I could adjust this profile.

*~Angharad Kang~*

ROFLMAO Marshie! Honestly, I don't write that much normally - unless, of course, my muse has moved in (and my cat has declined shedding fur on my lap for a month or so <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>), and Errand has already said he/she (?) doesn't normally post that much.

So no worries, and post away!

Heya, AK - as promised! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> How, out of interest are you two gonna introduce yourselves? Incidentally - if you aren't sure how at the minute, you could meet each other, say, somewhere else, THEN meet with us. Completely up to you <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>.

Hey this looks promising so I hope you don't mind me adding a couple characters to the story, I will post a bio and then in the IC if that's alright, if not I'll edit it out later.
Ok this may be slightly confusing but I'm actually doing a story on seceral characters of my mind and this sounds like the perfect place to put them until my writters block is worn away.

Now don't let the family history alarm you, its not as complicated as it seems(or perhaps it is.....<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>)

Characters Names: Alcarinquë
Alliance: Good

Number two: Arartiel
Alliance: Evil, very
Aliases: Nightingale, Lady of Mourning, and Isil(moon)
Spouse: Is widely known as the Shadow, as well as Melocar and is a sorcerer who will only reveal his true self to his wife.

The youngest of the twain is known as Alcarinquë,or radient,in the language of her people. The date of her and her twin sisters birth is unknown due to the fact that they were found by travling elvish warriors on their way to join the last alliance agianst Sauron. Realising that they were of elvin descent the elven men were unsure of where to take them, for they knew the land on which they stood would soon become a battle ground. Deciding to take the matter into the hands of their king they brought the twins before the High King and his Herald. It was the herald Lord Elrond that decided the safe course would be to give them to Lady Galadriel. A rider was dispatched and the girls were taken into the protection of the Golden Lady who brought them up and trained their mental prowess. The younger of the twins Alcarinquë was given the name due to her ability to create joy and happiness to those around her, and radient smiles and joyful laughter was heard when she was near. Though for all of that her mind was no where near as able or powerful as her slightly older twin sister who seemed to have an uncanny ability to forsee the future as well as look into the past, any in her company could feel the gaze upon them and as such they tended not to join her as often, though when she was young the older twin, who was given the name Arartiel, "royal fortress," due to her nobal stature and the strength of her being seeming as a fortress into her heart that none could scale or penetrate. Galadriel tried for countless years to break the barrier but her plans and guidence seemed to have miss fired as they only increased Arartiel's firm resolution that none would know the true elfess. So it was as night and day with the twin's disposition, though outwardly they were identical in every way but one.... the slightest difference that was easily overlooked if one wished it to be,(this difference is left until later on <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>)

Years later, after the War was seemingly over and Sauron was destroyed Lord Celeborn and Lord Elrond along with their elves headed back to their respective homes, it was indeed a bittersweet victory as they all agreed and many had decided to return with Elrond to Imladris after resting a bit. The twin's though they had always had a very close bond had seemed to grow apart and it was decided one would leave with the Lord of Imladris, the other would remain with the Golden Lady and Celeborn. It was not hard for the adults to decided which would go where, and it was decided that Alcarinquë would leave for Imladris while Arartiel remained. This upset the twins greatly and many were tears and heartaches were shed and shared at their partings. And though they vowed to remain close and visit often, soon the visits were short and chopped, until the stopped all together, and letters were long gone. This greatly upset Arartiel who knew how to hold grudges (for she knew and remembered her parents murderers, the ones who had turned their backs on them and allowed death to take them.) Soon Arartiel was using her abilities to read the mind of her sister, a trick she had honed in on while she was young and being tutored by the Gold Lady, and though it tired her greatly to do it at a distance she leaned she was able to do a great many things with this power, including putting thoughts and actions into her sisters unwilling mind....her sister had always been weak indeed.

She began to have romantic feelings toward the Lord Celeborn as she grew into a stunning elf maiden and though he looked fondly at her from time to time he could never return feelings like those she had. And in time Galadriel found out and threw her from the land, stating it was for her own well being to grow and find her own way. This fuel ed her anger to the boiling point and she at last allowed her heart to turn to the evil shadows at last. Her sister back at Rivendell felt the change in her sister and grieved, for she had grown up in pure splendor and had been treated and accepted as a daughter of the Lord of the Land, even by his wife, Lady Celebrian.

Arartiel soon found her way to the forests and lived as an nomad for many years, growing stronger each year. After countless years on her own, she stumbled across a aocerer who had fell in love with the strength she displayed, as well as the powers he felt lie inside her, after showering her with vows and proclemations of love and devotion Arartiel bound herself to him in marriage, the socerer never would go by a single name to the outside world, only to his new love would he give his true name. Instead he was widely known as "The Shadow," although other names circulated throughout Middle Earth, none pleasant. Given full reign of her power and permission to use it as she see fit Arartiel became quite a foe to be reconed with. She in turn relinquished her elven name for one more befitting her station, the Lady of Mourning many called her, for she destroyed lovers and families alike, caring nothing for anyone. Her sister desperate to be reuunited with her twin in hopes that she could end the suffering and bring them together in peace and light again left Imladris strictly against the will of Lord Elrond, he was greatly concerned with the outcome of such a union..... it is here that Alcarinquë meets the wanderers and begins her journey.

Looks of them both: Tall and slender, creamy pale skin, though the older twin's skin is by far paler, now that she spends her days out of the sun and light loving only the darkness that surrounds her. They both have Rich deep auburn hair hinting at a Teleri decent on either parent's side. They both have bright green eyes and each carries a ring that is fasioned from mithril and carries on it a bright purple stone, the meaning of these rings are not as of yet known.

Hey, Elgalad!

Nice bio - you're right about your heritage, as it doesn't quite fit into our time frame. Bio's are always adjusted, however (I do it regularly, and have about eight different characters <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>)

In an RPG (Role-playing game) you ARE the character. You think like them, and write in your post the actions that you think your character would do.

For example, in the IC (In-character) thread, just below this, My character is an amnesiac. I (the person sitting at the keyboard) know what she is, and who she is - but she doesn't. Consequently, I am recounting her distress, her confusion and her general disorientation at not beingable to understand who or what she is.

You write in the third person (he/she and they rather than I and we), and there are guidelines concerning RPing. These are all written in a thread right at the very top of this forum, probably containing links to places where first-time rpers can get proper help.

There is a guard against one-liners (threads with few words that don't really further the thread, and don't go into much detail about anything), and the bane of many more experienced RPers are those who enter RP's with posts completely irrelevant to the storyline (I could point you to one of my threads to see one of those <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>).

This is, naturally, covered with more detail is the mod-run announcements at the top - it would be a good idea to take a lookat them before you start.

When you DO feel ready, however, feel free to join us! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Hey there Raca!

I've been itching to join an RP, and seeing as your other one (Retribution) is a little stagnant at the moment, I've decided to incorporate my female character into this one instead...with your permission of course <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Here's her bio.

Name: Tanith
Race: Human, suspected trace of elvish bloodlines in her ancestry. Neutral in alliance (cannot be construed as completely 'good' or 'evil'.)
Age: 20 years
Appearance: Tanith is tall (5"9), lean muscled and athletic in stature. Fleet-footed and agile, her body is slim and taut; inexplicably honed by her physical prowess in the stealth-arts. Her hair is thick and predominantly a dark aspen-brown laced throughout with lighter hues. She has tan skin, contrasting with eyes of a fire-light bronze, subtly slanted and vehemently alert. She is most commonly clothed in a flexible, light-weight shift that allows for flexibility of movement - hair bound back in any manner that will not hinder her.
Markings: An intricate elvish design is tattooed in the centre of her lower back, symbolic of 'freedom'.
Possessions/Weapons: At most – a series of light-weight throwing-knifes, and a small, blue-tinted blade concealed at her right thigh. She holds minimal weaponry and possessions, preferring to rely on her superior abilities rather than the unnecessary weight of material belongings.
Skills: Unmatched talent in stealth and physical agility, also displays skill with a short blade. Accutely nimble of both mind and body, she makes a delectable theif, and excels as a prime advocate in any occupation of the stealth-arts, be it filcher or assassin.
Personality: Tanith exudes a sense of the eternally untamable. Her unstable childhood after the disappearance of her assassin father and death of her mother has instilled in her a deep-seated independence and keen wariness of others. Although seldom allowing herself to entirely trust another, she is an unmatched judge of character and is often inherently difficult to fool. Keeping her thoughts and emotions well guarded beneath a stony exterior, it takes a strong bond to know Tanith in her entirity.

I've read all the posts so far...and have decided that I'll take on the role of a spy hired by Arartiel, sent to spy on her sister's antics. Tanith, being the secretly compassionate soul she is, most likely ends up on the side of good. Let me know if thats ok!
I'll post soon...

Tanith.

Hallo! May I join? I only have one(two) main characters that I use, but I can adjust her(their) timeline.

NAME: Melanoniel (most people call her Mel)
RACE: Half elven, raised by the (old man) human Healer who adpoted her as a baby.(does NOT have pointy ears)
AGE: About twenty.
EYES: VERY green. Elven-deapthless, ageless eyes.
HAIR: Long, very curly, dark brown.
HEIGHT: About 5 feet tall.
BUILD: Slim, not quite willowy, strong, and posesses an elven poise and grace.
TEMPERMENT: Gentle, sweet-appears to be very shy, but always eager to help someone in need. She has a feistyness about her and a stubborn streak a mile long.
SKILLS: Is a natural born healer with the gift of healing touch, though she doesn't know it. Is trained in herb lore, archery, and swordplay. She carries daggers in her boots, and one on her belt for self defence and gathering herbs.
BIO: Was born to A human mother and elven father. Shunned by both their families, they were befrended by a wizard, known to many as the Gray Pilgrim. (Gandalf) Unknown to most, he does actually have a place he calls home, though he is rarely there. He allows his friends to stay there and he pops in to visit and rest up between journeys. Oneday, upon returning home, he finds it burnt, nearly to the ground. nearby are the bodies of Tiel(her father) and Anira(her mother), brutally murdered by orcs. He wept and burried them, wondering almost fearfully what had become of their infant daughter. He began sifting through the ash and rubble, fining little that was savagable. He finally discovered a chest that remained intact-that had not burned. There weren't even any scorch marks on the outside. Opening it, he found the baby, starving and cold. Her mother had hidden her there at the begining of the orc attack and Eru had mirculesly saved her frome the fire. Gandalf knew that he would not be a good seragate parent, so he began to wander who he should take the child to. His first thought was Elrond, but he thought better of it because of her father's shunning. Also, the journey would be far too dangerous for the infant, who needed food, and soon. He then remembered another friend of his; a lonely, old hermet and healer by the name of Jarlom. The old man gladly agreed to raise the girl. They renamed her and Gandalf made Jarlom swear never to tell her of her past-if she asked, Jarlom was to send for Gandalf and let him tell her.
Mel grew up, happy and contented with her life, knowing only that she was adopted. She carred little about where she actually came from and why she was a better healer than "Pop" (Jarlom).

I haven't finished reading the thread, but I will before I post. If you don't have shelter yet, maybe someone can remember the cottahe of the Father/daughter team of healers and make their way there.

Hi all!
Welll, I posted, sorry if my intro post was a little on the 'epic' side too... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
I've left the end VERY open, basically I've just suggested that I've 'revealed' myself to all of you.
So pretty much the next person that writes can do the details of 'how'. I expect I just stepped from the shadows and voila. Its pretty much open. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Hope this is ok. Lady of Ithilien, I hope you don't mind me being 'hired' by you to spy on your sister. We can discuss this further if you like, tell me your ideas.

Tanith.

Sorry about being gone guys, I'm going to post in the IC thread now. And yes Tanith.. your intro was great and I'm totally into the idea and I'm going to work it into my next post here. I'm still fitting the pieces of Arartiel's character into place so let me know what you think.
