Background:
There is a land divided into four lands. The land of Lebennin is ruled by King Rivion and next in line for the throne is his son, Kyle. So far Lebennin is at peace with the three other lands, but Lebennin is also the most prosperous and therefore the other lands became jealous. They have not acted openly on this jealousy yet, not yet. The strong hold of Lebennin is the kings palace in a fortress. He palace is a white marble structure, very lavish, inside a huge wall of granite, some 18 feet high and six feet thick. Its gates are steel plates bolted over huge oak doors that are bard from the inside with a thick wooden bar.
The king’s personal army, not the full defense force, is composed of 5,000 footmen and 7,000 archers, 1,500 cavalry. Also located in the fortress is the most prominent sorcerer’s school in the Lebennin. There are schools elsewhere however. The headmaster of the school and personal confidant to the king is man named Mathias. He is one of the most powerful sorcerers in all four lands. He was unfortunately corrupted by the power he was so near. He began to desire the throne and made deals with the lands across Lebennin’s boarders.
When he had finally set up the demise of the king and his personal usurption of the throne he put the final faze of the plan into action. Mathias did not want to share power with his foreign allies so just before the surprise attack of an enemy army on the fortress, Mathias brought word of it to the King who was able to prepare the army and barely defeat the invading army.
The original plan of Mathias and his allies was to surprise attack and crush the king’s personal army then occupy the fortress. Afterwards another army would march on Lebennin’s frontier forts then the original army would emerge from the fortress and attack the flanks of the king’s main defense force. Mathias telling the king before the attack commenced allowed the king to pull in troops and prepare a defense. Mathias carefully engineered the timing so the king could not pull in more troops than he did.
When the army attacked they were met with the kings personal army and both became deadlocked to the point where they were nearly killing man for man. In the thick of the battle Mathias pulled of his final scheme. He attacked from within the fortress itself with his own small army of demon warriors. These warriors, lesser spirits Mathias had summoned, swept through the interior of the fortress, cleaning it out and taking over. They captured the king and his son and bard the gates behind the army.
Gyle out in the field noticed the gates being closed and locked behind his army just as they were gaining the upper hand. In mid battle he sent back half his small remaining force to take back the fortress. His own force severely reduced, had trouble routing the enemy, when finally the enemy army attacking the king’s army broke and ran there were only a handful of the kings forces left. Those that had gone back to the castle to retake it did not return. Gyle returned with the remnants of his forces and attacked the gates with a captured siege engine.
As they were just approaching the gates they were attacked by warriors all in black plate armor, from head to toe. The warriors were master swordsmen and cut through the exhausted remnant like a knife through butter. Gyle was forced to call a retreat but they were pursued until only Gyle remained to his knowledge.
He finally killed the one demon that was still pursuing him and hid in the woods. He erected a flag on a pole to signify a rally point to any survivors, and is now waiting.

This is the ooc for the IC post I just posted, by all means join the IC but post a short bio here, doesn’t have to be anything lengthy we can develop characters IC for the most part.
Above is the background so read that to get the gist of what has happened? You can be a survivor or anybody really, except for a member of the black army. But we could use men or women from the army, or from the sorcerer’s school, or anywhere else.
The basic story outline is that the survivors band together and retake the castle from Mathias and his black army.
Anyway post a bio here and jump in, this should be a lot of fun.

Gender: Male
Occupation: captain commander
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 240
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Physical: Tall and hard, he is almost pure muscle. Blue eyes and short blond hair atop a face of sharp features, strong cheekbones. He is strong and lithe, with fair stamina, but none to dexterous.
Weapons: Two handed long sword, long straight dagger, for when he rides he carries a halberdier in place of a lance
Transportation: white stallion with gray speckles
Dress: white tunic under dark green shirt. Chain male and steel gauntlets and forearm guards. Heavy black leather boots and dark brown leather pants. When in battle he wears a helmet of steel. It is a fairly close fit with a slitted visor and gold guilt along the sides with the wings of his rank.
Psychology: developed in character
Bio: Born and raised in the fortress, became a squire when he came of age and eventually was knighted. He proved his value and skill in leadership over time and was placed in command of the Calvary of the king’s army. Eventually he was promoted beyond that to field commander of the king’s army. He still prefers to ride in the Calvary but is known for his exploits with the sword.
When he became field commander he developed a fairly close relationship with the kings son and through him the old king himself. The high sorcerer, Mathias, being the kings most trusted advisor at the time resented the growing influence Gyle had with the king, and animosities grew up. Soon Mathias grew to hate Gyle while Gyle himself devoted much of his cunning to simply avoiding the sorcerer. Still the Sorcerer would dearly love to see Gyle dead.

Weapons: Partizan (a sword, of sorts), a small assortment of knives.
Personality: Meloncholly(sp) most of the time. Is prone to play pranks when she is extremely happy. LOVES! to practice with her weapons. She is a GREAT master with the Partizan.
Occupation: none...really...she WAS in training to be an assassin, but she didn't like the occupation, and went her own way.
Clothing: Men's Tunics. Only wears dresses during extra special events. Her clothing is all black which deeply contrasts to her pale skin, has a large black cloak. Wears a black stip of cloth tied around her forehead.
Appearance: Deep brown hair with auborn and strawberry blonde highlights, peircing green eyes,pale skin. Delicate complexion, and about 5' 9". She has a LONG white scar on her left cheek and neck, it runs down the side of her face, curves on her cheek, runs down to the neck and curves to the back of her neck. It is VERY obvious, one of the first things people ususally notice about her.

Occupation: Thief
Appearance: Pretty tall, around 6 feet. Hair as black as a raven's wing and eyes the color of the sea before a storm.
Personality: In a word: clumsy. She's not a great fighter because she was never trained in such business, and eve if she was she probably wouldn't be that great at it. She's not that graceful or silent, which is somewhat of a disadvantage in her chosen profession. She tries to make light of situations and has trouble finding the line drawn between the right and wrong times and places. She is a loyal friend and ally and normally liked by everyone around her. Despite her cheer, if her trust is broken it can never be regained.
History: Most of it she keeps to herself. She used to work as jester in the King's service (while occasionally sneaking a little extra). During the siege she managed to escape through an unknown passage through the servant's quarters and that's about all she'll tell anyone who asks.

Hey! I'd like to join, if I may. To add a twist, I'd also like to play my character as Matthias' daughter, to add that little bit of depth. Never a loving father, was Matthias...
Name: Saeran Arthelion
Race: Human
Occupation: Sorceress
Age: 28
Height/Build: 5'8", Willowy more than buxom. Curvy, but not generously so. Well proportioned.
Hair/Eyes: Copper-haired, with deep green eyes. Her looks seem to embody Nature. She is pale-skinned, with not so much as a freckle to show for her time outdoors.
Personality: She is as tempestuous as most redheads, containing a wrathful temper and a sharp, wit-laden tongue to boot. She is neither naive nor distrustful of newcomers... she tends to be able to spot motves and such pretty quickly, and so waits for signs to display the consciousness beneath the face. Inside, however, is a maelstrom (I LOVE that word ) of emotions regarding her father. She hates him for his betrayal, unable to forget his treatment of her when she discovered the plot. She feels used, and does her best to hide her heritage so she can avoid the hate she would recieve if they knew who she really was.
Bio: Saeran is Matthias' daughter, and was never truly loved by him. He had always longed for a son, and although he treated her fairly he never cherished her they way he would had she been a boy. She strove for his affection, even more so when her mother died. She joined the school of Sorcery, and excelled in its classes, the seers in the group proclaiming her mother's line, and consequently hers, to be of Eleental sourse - this afforded her a special link with Nature and the power connested with it... her father, since his corruption had always ordered her to use it for destruction, but th whole idea was abhorrent to her and she always refused.
Then, one night, he revealed by accident to his daughter the plan of his to control the throne of Lebennin - and Saeran was horrified. Even more so when she realised that he had anticipated her reaction and had drugged her drink accordingly. When she woke up, she had been badly beaten and dumped in the woods outside the city. Her magic had been severely depleted, and she had barely been able to walk, covered in a multitude of wounds that hurt her constantly. For the duration of the battle she had healed herself, twisted inside with the knowledge that if she found her father - who had been callous enough to believe his power greater than hers, which she now knew to be false, even if she did hide it - she would punish him herself, as much for his abuse of her as for the betrayal of the throne.

I'd like to join this rp. It sounds very interesting. Here is my character.
Name: Kyla

Race: Human
Marital Status: Single
Occupation: Waitress in one of the inns.
Appearance: She has brown hair, just past her shoulder blades and green-blue eyes. A light sprinkle of freckels covers her cheeks and nose. With a fair face to look at, she is slender and around 5' 6''.
Personality: She is kind and trustworthy and loves to have a great time. She loves to laugh and almost always wears a smile. She has a genuine concern for her friends and just people in general. She loves life.
Clothing: She wears an auburn-colored sleevless dress over a thinner light blue one. She also wears a white apron around her waist where she keeps her note book to write orders on and such, when at work. She has a few other dresses to wear around town, nothing fancy. But she also has a pair of black pants and a blue shirt which she wears for travelling along with a pair of black boots and a hooded cloak.
Other: Her parent's died when she was about eight, leaving her older brother and herself. Her brother has taken care of her since then and is extremely protective of her. He serves as one in the army and tought Kyla to fight with a sword after she took a great interest in it and eventually got her her own sword.

I've been looking for war-like RPs. Mind if I join?

Age: Late 20s
Appearance: More or less like this. Disheveled sandy hair, grey eyes, stands about 6 feet. Lithe but not exactly weak. Wears the King's Army livery.
Occupation: Soldier. Serves in the Cavalry unit, but is also a trained archer.
Weapons: Broadsword, bow and arrows.
Personality:Somewhat reckless or foolhardy when in battle. He is very loyal, although he doesn’t trust easily. Sharp eyes and mind, Iorek sees far both physically ahead and into others.
Bio: Born in Lebennin, he joined the King's Army at a very young age and his training has been continuous ever since. After serving as an archer for several years, he decided to continue his instruction as a rider and applied for the Cavalry unit.
Iorek leads a very simple life, a soldier's life of service and discipline.
Now, he's one of the very few survivors of Gyle's unit.

Don't worry if you can't post right away Mithnen ^_^, I don't expect this all to be writen and done with in a week.
good job ic too people. So I figure that the group will here pretty soon after a bit more recuperation head on over to the fortress and try to figure out a way inside. after that its sneaking through the city and up to the palace. Then we have to decide whether we go after the captive students, go straight for Mathias, find the king, split up, stay together. any ideas from anyone? I've got the plot more or less in mind, but if anybody has some good ideas, feel free, to implement them or put them here.

I was thinking we could split up once we got into the city, or at least Ralistur anyway. I was thinking he could try and resque the students and then try and lead an attack against the demons, possibly hopefully to lure the demons away and give you time to get to your destination.
Who will go head to head with Mathais? Sounds like we've all got reasons to kill him.

Maybe Saeran and Ralistur could combine magicsto conceal the others as they feign corruption and enter right under their noses... maybe that'd be a way for him to find out more about her elemental link, and for her to find out more about him. With mutual consent, naturally - combining magics is like looking into the soul of the other. Just an idea...

I just have a scene in mind where Ralistur is riding over the hill on his white horse, with a whole bunch of students lined on the walls. And in the middle are a bunch of demons who are patrolling the front gate. The students all shoot there magic at Ralistur, who deflects it into an extremely powerful spell, and wipes out a crap load of demons. Of course, a spell that powerful would prolly kill the poor guy... But if it's what needs to be done, then it's what needs to be done.

I mean, her character just seems to be a little... 'stagnant'. Maybe something tp do with an elemental, or if I have the imagination this evening I might go down a completely different route, if I can find one...

Hi! I had an idea for a demon character. Her mate defied Mathias, and so the wizard killed him and their two offspring and now this particular she-demon is out for wizard blood, through any means possible. Mathias's henchmen are on the lookout for her (as she shared in her mate's crime), but she might be able to help you out with infiltration and so forth.

OK, I did some more thinking here. I've got a sketchy bio/subplot worked out. I know you said no Black Army members, but what about defectors? Here's my idea:
Name: Dzan'caya Roc-channis, Duchess of the Seventh Circle.
Race: Demon noble
Gender: female.
Occupation: Duchess
Appearance: Like a human woman, tall, graceful, and extremely beautiful, but with blue-black skin faintly patterned like a snake's. Sleek black bat's wings, two graceful lyre-shaped horns behind her pointed ears, the top pair longer than the bottom pair. Vivid yellow eyes. Black hair left to grow long, and which runs in a mane down her spine. Pieces of it are braided here and there, with black glass beads in the weave. Her fingers and toes have fully-retractable claws. She also has a long, serpentine tail with a bladelike arrowhead tip.
Armour/Weapons: Dzan'caya wears something that resembles a leotard, but it is made of very fine black chain mail, lined with black silk. It leaves her arms and back bare, with a clasp at the back of her neck, and extends down to the bases of her toes. It's a lot lighter than it looks. On her feet are sandals that lace up her calves, leaving her toe-claws free. She has leather gauntlets on her forearms. Over this, when she feels she needs it, goes a set of sleek black plate armour, including a helmet and wing-guards. She cannot fly when armoured thus, since to is too heavy a load. Her favored hand-weapon is a quarterstaff with serrated blades at either end, though she does carry an assortment of knives about her person.
Abilities: Black magic, especially control over fire and shadow. Uses green mage-fire as a weapon. She can fly, also, and is a ferocious warrior. She fights dirty.
Bio: Dzan'caya allied herself and her armies with Mathaias in the takeover of Lebennin, seeing power over the mortal kingdoms. The wizard, however, was plotting to create a special bond between the Demon Kingdoms and his forces so that he could control them absolutely with his magic. This spell of his required an alliance--a marriage alliance--between the two forces. Having disowned his only heir and daughter, Mathaias chose his most blindly loyal, impressionable, and malleable apprentice to name as his heir. He saught to join his heir with the highest noble of the Demon Kingdoms--at that time, the Duchess of the Seventh Circle. Such an unholy alliance would forever bring the Demon Kingdoms under the trall of the wizards. The Demons themselves had used such binding magics in the past, to bend power-hungry mortals to their will. But now the dark magic would be used in reverse, and none but Dzan'caya seemed to realize this. The demons had planned to bind Mathaias to themselves, but the Duchess knew that the wizard had planned for this, and that only one binding would take place on the marriage-day. She told this to her mate, who became enraged and tried to kill Mathaias. It didn't work. Dzan'caya's mate and the two children she had borne by him were killed, and the Duchess herself knew that she would be forced into the binding ritual if she stayed. So she escaped, and now she seeks to destroy Mathaias before he gets the whole of the Demon Kingdoms in his power. She still wants control of mortal lands, but this has become a secondary objective.

Weapons: her own powers/magic(mostly elemental but is capable of other things too),a black staff with a silver design like a snake winding around it and a dark blue crystal on the top, a sword, and a dagger.

wow, I didn't even bother to check back here  It kinda died and I was getting alot of really independent, take on everybody, all powerfull, godlike characters, so I let it faulter. But if anybody is still interested, I can kick start this thing again.

I'd still be interested in joining...I was going to play a sorceress like character originally, but if you want more less powerful characters I could bring in a different one

I'd love to have you. And a sorceress char is fine. What I was getting before is people who were saying that their character had no fear of Mathias or his demon minions and of whom Mathias may have been secretly frightened.
Just so long as your character is in some real danger throughout this Rp, she will be fine

I would join also witch great pleasure if you don’t mind. Here is my character :
Name: Ordon
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Occupation : fighter
Height : 168cm
Weight : 65kg
Eyes : Blue
Hair : Straight , messy dark blonde .
Physical : Short one , but agile and quick. Has thin beard (connected witch moustache) in color of sun , and bright friendly eyes. When he is nervous he starts to move his moustache little like rabbit.
Weapons : Rapier – he believes he is master in it and that’s quite true – he never met anyone better then he in fighting on rapier. But that of course don’t mean he is best ever.
Transportation : Grey , not so big horse – stallion.
Dress: White shirt – now covered witch blood. Grey – leather trousers – same long shoes and coat.
Psychology : Ordon is simple guy. Good friend but he doesn’t trust everyone – you have to prove yourself to be his friend. He easily falls in love witch almost every pretty girl he meets. He is gentleman and all good hearted.He is very brave as opposite to his height (he don’t like when someone is making fun of him)
Bio : Born in Lebennin as son of great knight. As he always was small and fragile he worked very hard to be knight as his father himself . His father once told him : As you are short , you must be good in fighting – so if people wont afraid of you and respect you , they might have fun of you. So Ordon did. He is believed to be greatest rapier fighter in Lebennin and near countries , but he is noble man and wont made big thing of it. If you wont heard of him before you would probably even don’t know about his skills. He always liked to fight in good cause , and believes that if he will be famous he will find his heart maiden easily…

I forgot to mention that character is based on Michał Wołodyjowski from Henryk Sienkiewicz Trilogy - one of my favourite books.
