A street named Tolkien?
Is there a street named after Tolkien?
If so, then "HURRAH!"
\
If not, I move a motion to request that a road be named after Tolkien. |

I don't know of any Tolkien streets, though it wouldn't surprise me.
A ward at the Queen Elizabeth Psychiatric Hospital in Birmingham (the city where he was brought up) is named after Tolkien. Also, I believe that a rather grotty "Tolkien-themed" pub in Birmingham, featuring a bizarre sculpture of rings created by one of Tolkien's descendents, was going to be named after him, until the Tolkien Estate prevented it. And there's an asteroid named after Tolkien. |

I don't know about a Tolkien Street, but I've heard of several new streets somewhere in the US and Holland, named after places or characters in his works. |

According to http://www.wordiq.com/definition/J._R._R._Tolkien, things named after Tolkien include:
-
Asteroid 2675 Tolkien (a small main belt asteroid discovered by M. Watt in 1982)
-
Tolkien Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex
-
Tolkien Way, Stoke-On-Trent
edit:
Apparently
, Tolkien Way was not named after Tolkien, but his eldest son John Francis Tolkien, who was priest-in-charge at a church in Stoke.
I don't know if Tolkien has an Eastbourne connexion? |

I hope the Tolkien asteroid doesn't crash into the Earth! That would be rather ironic.
In San Jose California there is a neighborhood with streets named after Gandalf, Bilbo, the Brandybucks, and other Tolkien characters. I've driven by there but never stopped. It seems like a nice place to live. |
