The Latte Lounge's chat thread: now with fuzzy mascot!

Postby luthienelflover » Tue Oct 24, 2006 6:44 pm

Welcome to the chat thread of the adoption thread The Latte Lounge!

EVERYONE is welcome! We look forward to meeting you! :)

We're serving hot spiced cider in #9! :D

And remember... Gil gets free coffee and don't forget it. :P

The Latte Lounge's poem written by Parm! :D

Ah, Latte Lounge, dear Latte Lounge,
where coffee flows, one need not scrounge,
nor beg, cajole, and feel bereft,
for always there is coffee left...
perhaps a cake, a crepe or tart,
created by such cyber-art
that we consume to heart's content,
yet have no vice one should repent.

Ah, Latte Lounge, a cheerful place,
where we can drink, without disgrace,
more cups of coffee one could pour,
yet be no glutton to deplore.
My mind is smiling as I write,
of latte coffee -- such delight!
So, to this Latte Lounge, we come
for coffee. Friend, would you like some?

And here is our mascot, the fuzzy we have adopted! His name is W.C. (White Chocolate) Mocha! :D

Wahoo! A new Lounge! :D

You should bring a candle with you when you go take a picture (assuming you nab a camera from somebody), just in case. ;)

So, I used to post a lot in the Lounge and I loved it. And then I stopped and I'm not sure why. But I think this new thread gives me the opportunity to start again, so I will!

:gropehugs: and :hug:s all around.

I was thinking the same thing Elsha. :D

I think it's pretty easy to forget to post in places where there are people that you already talk to, regardless of the thread you're in. That's just my two cents though. :)

Congrats on the new Lounge guys!

I should post here more often. I only posted in the last one like 3 or 4 times.

You could get email updates for it. Then you wouldn't forget! :P

[/selfish]

You guys should post here though. It's very fun. *nods*

I'll try to take a candle, Eve, but I'm technically not allowed to have them (fire hazard). That never stopped me though. B^:P

For those who didn't see it in the last thread -- I carved a pumpkin today for the Parish House. I made the Eye of Sauron. :D:D:D

But seriously, we need something new to serve. Last time it was donuts. Before that it was pie, and cake, and various specialty drinks. This time I'm thinking spiced cider! What do you guys think? :D

I hate the e-mail updates. I know that some people live by them, but I really can't stand them.

And even though I already read it in the other thread, it still rocls.

And hey, I did a similar thing - I reposed the picture of the wedding thank-yous in the new thread even though I posted a few posts before the other thread was maxed out. :P

Edit: Spiced cider = yay!

Plus it's fall. *nods*

Good, it's not just me looking for publicity then. :P

I really can't live without the email updates. I guess I just post in so many places that if I don't get them I forget to go there. It's sooo much nicer now that you only get one instead of one every time someone posts though. I used to get hundreds of them!

And I thought of the cider because it's fall. :D It can be hot spiced cider too. Yummy.

I like to add cinnamon to my cider when I heat it up, just to give it a little extra flavor... because I'm too lazy to actually make spiced cider most of the time. :P

I told myself I shouldn't, but I couldn't resist... I'm re-watching Madagascar before it's due back at the library.

"Well, of course we're going to throw poo at him!"

I love the monkeys. :D :D :D

"If you've got poo, fling it now."

Madagascar was pretty funny. Could have been better, though. I mean, the ads looked GREAT, but the actual movie didn't live up to it.

I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to films. Unless they're horribly cliched or really boring, I generally don't mind. And I just love the monkeys, the lemurs, and the penguins.

Now I really am going to work on that pamphlet.

SPICED CIDER!!! :happydance:   That sounds so delicious right now, you have no idea. I actually have packets of spiced cider that my old youth group sent me in a care package. But I have no mug!!! :x :x I need to "borrow" one from the dining hall, but I have to remember to bring my big purse or my book bag so I can subtly remove it from the building.

My favorite thing to do to cider is heat it up with a cinnamon stick in it.

I saw the previews for Madagascar, but I never saw the actual movie. The penguins were cute  but I wasn't all that interested in seeing it. A lot of the new Disney/Pixar type kid movies really bother me for some reason. I like the old ones, like The Lion King and Aladdin and Mulan and Beauty and the Beast.

I don't get the email updates, because they kind of start to bother me after awhile. I just check every thread that looks like something I would post in, and forget about the rest for a while.

I like the older Disney movies better also. The new ones are good, but... they just don't have the charm of the old ones. Like Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. *loves*

At our dining halls you can just walk off with stuff and they won't stop you. :P In fact they have receptacles around for returning the dishes when you're done. Technically you're not allowed to, but they know people will do it no matter what, so they don't even try to stop us.

Well, you can have that kind if you like, we DO have an alcohol license. :P

But I was thinking apple cider. The kind mulled with spices. :P

The new ones aren't as good because they don't have all the singing and musical stuff like the old ones. It's sad. :'(

At Western we would steal the cafeteria trays and go sledding on them.

Whoa!

Got trouble with my computer, fixed it, am back, and look what I find! A brand new place for us, the coffee-addicted elven and non-elven population :D

Yay. Cheers.

All right then. Back to where I left our conversation then. I was whinking, let's forget Greek, 'cause the alphabet is difficult to post, and better stick on Latin. Actually, I've studied a bit Latin back in gymnasium, 8th grade, one hour/week. But it was at a most basic level, something like, all rightie, let's learn by heart these 10 proverbs and next time we'll write a test, reproducing them. Not good at all :( So I brought here with me some Latin books, like a dictionary, and a small grammar book. So maybe you'd be more eager to help me with my Latin then?

Oooh, when did we get a new thread?

I could do with spiced cider - like mulled wine but made from apples not grapes?

Are there any hugs to spare? Or teddy bears at least? I'm feeling a bit poorly and stressed (I have no time to be ill.) So I think I'll give Keve the migraine and the stress, tuck her up in a corner of the Lounge, and let Katie get on with life normally.

I could provide some spare teddies from my home collection, if you like :P
(only for a short time though, I get to be very sellfish when they come in discussion)

Ill too, here, it seems. Cold, better said. I cannot understand where and when I caught it, but it's definetly here, getting on my nerves, and mostly on my sinuses. Hope I'll find some quick cure for it, otherwise I won't be able to focus on anything properly :(

Yay, new thread!!!!

Luthy, per your response in the old thread-- Nope, don't remember reading a word of that discussion. Huh. :P

And GOOD LUCK ON YOUR LATIN TEST!!!!:hug::clap: Go go go!!!

Just had cider last night! I prefer mine cold and spiced, thanks. :)

Watched The Little Mermaid on Friday. Heehehehe, once again I ask, who says college students don't like Disney?

NEE--Sure we can teach you Latin!! Before we start, let me ask you, how much did you learn/do you know about inflected languages? If you took Latin for a year, you probably have a general idea. Plus, I'm told that Romanian is the closest living relative to Latin. So you should be pretty well off. :D

Hiya and Welcome to Elsha and Eve!! (Oooh, check out that rhythm... and that alliteration.. and those vowel sounds... *Has been in poetry too long*)

Oh, and Rohy too!! (Guess I could have added you into the above welcome, but that would throw off the poetic-ness of it!!)

Erm, right, happy Wednesday, everyone!

*Gives Alex spiced cider, a fireplace, a nap, and a cat.* :D Enjoy!!

I could do with all of those except the nap. Substitute in Latin, or better yet, my novel-in-progress, and ...

Novels-in-progress are always fun ;) Or not always I imagine... but mosly? ;)

My mantra that has helped me live a happy and fulfilling life so far:

A day without a nap is crap.
