Thanks Sky Yeah, it was interesting b/c the wind was pretty high and it was raining steadily. I had to hunker down on the railing of a hotel. It was very lucky that the bolts were coming as regularly as they did.
hmm I don't have many pics from home but we walk the beach almost everyday down here, looking for turtle tracks and nests. I haven't found one yet but ghost crab holes are as common as the sand itself.
Now that I'm looking at it again, this little one's home makes me think of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie.

My daily life doesn't really lend itself to being photographed to be honest, so I've had to wimp out a bit and just post a picture of the rather cool building in London where I'm working at the moment.

Daily life... well, this isn't really daily, since I only have to do it once a year, but here's a shot of some shots in the fridge: namely, West Nile vaccinations for our horses... I have one left to give, and three spare needles in case of another mishap.
One more to go...
Shutter speed: 1/13 sec
Aperture: F/2.8
Focal Length: 6mm
Said mishap involved one of our 2-yo fillies (who's notoriously horrid for any sort of vet or farrier work) who shook the needle out of her neck before I could give her the vaccination yesterday. I was already all nerves from working with a 2-inch, razor-sharp needle, which a) I didn't want to stick in my hand, and b) didn't want to break off inside her neck. We got several replacement needles, and I tackled the problem again this evening. Two of my sisters spent half an hour getting her to stand still, and then I moved in for the kill... er... shot. I got it done, but came dangerously close to doing both of the above; I was lucky to get away with only a bent needle. *shudder* I still have one more young horse to do... hopefully she'll be more cooperative than Jadari was. Times like this, I wish I didn't know how to give vaccinations. Did I mention that I was literally shaking for 20 minutes after the episode this evening? Wonderful confidence booster. I'd be a terrible vet.

*sticks her head around the corner, eye baggy* Hey. Just thought I'd stop in... I probably have photos somewhere to show but at the moment I'm just too tired to think. I've been busy with normal work 40hrs, trying to help my husband find a new job (things were tight), trying to get the photography business going (I have 2 potentials, and a wedding planner who wants me as their main photographer YAY!), and of course trying to be a good house wife So as you can see... I think my sanity is lacking. I dropped the parades because of issues so it's one less thing to worry about... except that one thing was stress relief in working with the horses.
ok.... I'm going to bed now.... If I can remember tomorrow (or I may remember what else I was supposed to do) I will link some pictures for you..... but for now I'm gonna crash and snuggle with the hubby...... |

Hi y'all! How are you doing?
I have an idea for a Halloween topic if anyone is around and interested.
How about pictures of something really gross or scary? Or maybe the house can have a costume show and the pictures would be like a photo shoot/runway sort. |

Hey Lithaur, that sounds like a good idea for the guild. Unfortunately, Singapore doesn't acknowledge Halloween as a festival or holiday, so we don't have anything going on for that.
I'll be doing a private ritual for myself, though, so I might post pictures of it if I can...

Signs of Fall...
The fog rolls in.
And the light shows improve dramatically. I don't go anywhere without the camera now. Bother traffic. It won't let me stop on the back roads and catch the sun beams coming through the tree limbs in the morning. |

One of my smaller hermit crabs (I have seven) just moulted. Beware the cuteness of a nekkid hermit crabby!

No costumes from me. Didn't get mine done in time.
I found a new setting on my dad's camera though. Super close pics of flowers will be forthcoming next year.
And this is what wanted to grow on my car despite liberal windshield wiper action:

Lith:
Is the frost on the glass panel composed there deliberately? I dunno, but I find that it detracts from my focus a little bit and all...especially with the frost being a little blur, and the silhouette of the trees being unfocused.
I just bought myself a refurbished Nikon D70 and a refurbished kit lens (18 - 55mm). So, I think it's safe to assume this thread can expect a little more life soon-ish?

I tried taking lightning shots last night, but the storm moved away within five minutes, and the lightning strikes didn't occur frequently enough for me to take even a decent shot.
Guess I should learn how to use the timer on my D70 beforehand...
Don't want to paste a thumbnail here because of the poor quality/effort. But...yups.
Barely-seen lightning
Edit to ask:
Does anyone have any tips on taking IR (infrared) shots? I'm buying an IR filter soon to test the effects out...

Bump! No one has been here for a long time. Where'd everyone go?
I recently bought wild_card a Canon hybrid camera, so I'm hoping we'll get some good pictures between us and put them up here.
For now, I have some random candid shots of our outing.
Wild_card with my friend's camera.
Me with my own camera.

NOTICE and POLL!
Since no one has been here for ages (weeks, maybe a couple of months?), we're asking if anyone wants the guild closed (those who don't post but still go through this guild may speak up, too).
Or, if anyone wants to take over from us?
