MATRIM, said it on the other thread, but what a great surprise to see you this morning when I logged on. I will read and get an update in the '02 thread, but Scribbles is right. Anytime is a good time for getting educated. Warm missing hugs for those who are no longer or rarely posting with us on TORC. I put fresh logs on the fireplace and your bed is turned down, cocoa on the nightstand. Come on over, the joint is all cozy and waitin'.

IsildursHeir My memories of sharing thoughts with you on TORC are definitely not clouded. Very clear memories they remain. I hope you visit us again. The morgue still regains life...at most random times. Matrim Great to see you again my friend. I remember meeting you in Toronto. You promised to send me a picture of your gauntlets when they were completed...with a horse head motif. No, I have not forgotten. You had glorious gauntlets on and were going to further enhance them. I loved them as they were and through your words to me I felt your looking forward to adding more to them. I have not received the picture yet. Ahh Frodo, I wish I had a picture of them when I was done. It took me a few years to finally get them done, I was distracted by new obession of fencing, I completed the modifications of them but they were destroyed by the Army during a move.

I fully understand and appreciate distractions / new obessions. But... One of these days when I get settled down back in Washington Im going to set up a tanning and curing shed out back and start doing my own leatherwork. Its not right that they were destroyed but its the nature of the beast when you deal with military moves. Stuff always breaks, you just hope its not somethign you really love.

Matrim - I feel your pain about military moves. It amazes me that they can move entire units overseas without a problem, but couldn't move my household 10 miles without destroying something!

It would be great to see Leoba and Din again. With a new baby, I can imagine that TORC might be the last item on their list of "to do's". My dad, while he was in the Coast Guard, had a reel to reel projector with video of early 1960s family reunions...with video of my cousins and I back in our early teens. I remember our aunts and uncles trying with all their might to recapture their youth with us. I so wish I could see those silent videos again. The only sounds any of us heard were and remain so very fond to me. The video playing through the reels and my families comments. My Mom, my Dad, my brothers and sisters voices. No better sounds could I ever have heard. So much joy to me. Words fail to relay and fall so very short of my thoughts and precious memories. Good tears caress my face. So good to see you Hunter ..I shall have to ask my Dad where we once resided in PI. I was so very young then and will admit I don't remember exactly where we lived. I do know we lived off base and that a boy threw a rock over a fence and I did not have the sense to avoid the rock hitting me in the head. I was around 10 years of age at the time and evidently didn't know how to avoid being hit. I still bear the scar proudly to this very day Much love...as always...to Julia

I used to be part of the late night crew when I was in Guam. Now though I have to be up at 4am so its early nights for me. Maybe when I get out. Ive always been a night owl anyways.

agrees with IH And THIS particular Master Bard to be exact!! Hola on the thread. Matrim, I also get up very early, so early to bed is the motto for me as well. Now that my system is geared that way, I like it. I like getting off work when everyone else is still working. No lines at banks or stores. No traffic. Unfortunately for me coffee is out. I had to give it up around 5 year ago. At first it was hell, but now I only miss it when I smell it brewing. And that is exactly the way I feel, like I am playing hooky while everyone else is working or that I have a secret that they don't get.
